Bust out the hoverboard (what do we actually call this thing?), Lewis Hamilton's work is done.

He finishes fastest in the morning, the first time he has topped a testing session.

It is 12:00 GMT - lunchtime - but the session is going on for another five minutes while a marshalling system check is performed.

Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz are out on the track at the moment.

Lewis Hamilton is back in the Mercedes garage, where he has been since setting the fastest time a little earlier.

With Nico Rosberg taking over after lunch, that could be it for the world champion for the day.

It is a good observation. Testing, certainly as far as the Mercedes drives are concerned, is all part of the dance.

  16. Hamilton leads the waypublished at 11:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2016

    Now Lewis Hamilton goes fastest.

His latest run on the soft tyres sees him clock a 1:23.622 to nip ahead of Kevn Magnussen.

It looks like for the second day in a row Mercedes will top the timesheet at lunch, although Hamilton's time is six tenths of a second slower than Nico Rosberg's from yesterday.

A mixture of compounds on show at the moment with Kevin Magnussen (super-soft), Lewis Hamilton (soft) and Carlos Sainz (medium) out on the circuit.

At the moment, Kevin Magnussen is stopping Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton from going fastest in testing today.

We know that it will be a different story when the season gets under way, so we've been asking for you to tell us who can stop them via#ifanythingcanstopmercedes, external

Bruce Willis is a definite candidate.

  20. Magnussen goes fastestpublished at 11:22 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2016

A bit of a surprise name at the top of the timesheet as lunchtime approaches, Kevin Magnussen has just gone fastest of all. He does have super-soft tyres on his Renault, helping him clock 1:23.933.

Lewis Hamilton has also switched to a softer compound, swapping mediums for softs, and is within a whisker of Magnussen's time with 1:23.967.
