As Dan mentioned a little earlier, Daniil Kvyat's focus this morning has been on pitstop practice but after 28 laps he records his first timed lap of the day - a 1:26.240, which is the fourth fastest time so far.

This could work. Maybe throw in an obstacle course for the drivers to get through first too...

What would you introduce if you were in charge of Formula 1?

F1 journalist Dan Knutson: "Yesterday Daniel Ricciardo did a long sequence of pit stops. Today Red Bull is doing the same pit stop practice with Daniil Kvyat.

"Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen won’t be out for an hour or so as the Ferrari mechanics are repairing a minor problem on the car. Ferrari will not run the halo device again today."

Right then, I think it about time to liven up this page with some of your wit and humour. I've been loving the meme work over the last couple of days, so let's try and get some more going today.

What would you do to make F1 more entertaining? Add video game-style obstacles? Make them jump a pool packed with crocodiles?

I'm sure you can think up something much better to send in your suggestions to #ifIwasinchargeofF1, external

No Massa/Williams on track yet - the team say no issue just a bit slow out the blocks this morning and some changes to run plan.

  16. Halo head protection system testedpublished at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2016

Ferrari have run their car this morning with a prototype of the ‘halo’ head protection device that will be used in 2017.

The design is the one that has been agreed by all the teams, with support of the drivers, for introduction next year. Ferrari are very heavily involved in the working group that has been set up by governing body the FIA into head protection.

The actual design is not yet finalised because the FIA still needs to do load tests on the mounting points. Many who saw the new device on Raikkonen’s car on Thursday expressed a view that it must affect visibility.

But this is not the case, I’m told. The drivers’s eyeline is below the structure and the central strut disappears from view because of a human’s binocular vision. There have been some questions raised about whether it will impede drivers’ views of the starting lights, however.”

Lots of you have been asking about whether the halo head protection device will restrict drivers' view. Andrew Benson can shed a bit more light on this...

Nico Rosberg is top of the times as he posts a 1:25.251 on medium tyres. That's two seconds faster than Kimi Raikkonen in second.

Every driver has had a bit of time on the track apart from Felipe Massa, who's looking pretty comfy I must say. Could be out soon though.
