Mercedes strong, but work to dopublished at 07:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2016

This might have been the shortest pre-season testing programme in Formula 1 history, but even so its appeal is already wearing thin for some. A hint of tetchiness and weariness is creeping in to some answers at news conferences and it seems the first race cannot come soon enough.
Lewis Hamilton put a voice to this feeling when he said that “testing is getting a bit dull” and he was “ready to go racing”. Perhaps, but even super-well prepared Mercedes have some work to do before that happens - and Hamilton does, too.
He was not happy with the car on a low-fuel run on Wednesday, saying the car was “not in the right ballpark”. He has two more half-days to sort it out before going to Australia.
