Where are Williams?published at 11:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2016

Chief F1 writerWilliams have been doing their usual understated job in testing, just quietly getting on with things. But on Thursday Felipe Massa finally tried a low-fuel, qualifying-style run and ended up with second-fastest time.
Williams appear to be about where they were last year - third behind Mercedes and Ferrari. Chief technical officer Pat Symonds said: “I think in absolute terms, positionally, we are looking to be in a similar position to last year. I believe we are a little closer to Mercedes and Ferrari. A huge pack snapping at our heels. It does appear to be quite close in the midfield. On the face of it, I don't think Mercedes have grown the gap.”
However, he added that the vagaries of testing meant it was “quite easy” to get those assumptions wrong.
