Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari are set to work through a race simulation this afternoon.

Vettel still holds the fastest time from this morning, and was asked at lunch whether he thinks the SF16-H is a winning car.

“Well that has to be seen,” he said, “but first impression was good and I think everything we built after that felt very positive. Overall I’m happy with the feeling in the car, difficult to say speaking about performance compared to the others, but ourselves we feel very happy with the step we’ve made.”

Earlier we asked you to vote for who you think will win the opening race of the season and, perhaps unsurprisingly, Lewis Hamilton is the clear winner, taking 57% of the votes.

Mercedes are back up and running for the first time since that transmission problem ended Lewis Hamilton's running just before lunch as Nico Rosberg emerges for the first time today.

As the Force India is recovered, here is what Sebastian Vettel had to say about the halo head protection he tested this morning:

“I think first of all to go round is OK, you can see what you need to see. I think we can improve the system in terms of aesthetics, and also in terms of how much visibly is in your way. I tested it in the simulator and I think we will see evolutions of it very soon.

“In principal, I agree it doesn’t look very nice. It’s not the picture you are used to for Formula 1 for a long time. But equally if it helps increase the safety and helps saving lives… There would be at least two drivers in the last four years that I remember would still be around, Henry Surtees and Justin Wilson, if we had this type of system. I think it can be as ugly as possible - nothing justifies not having these guys around any more.”

Sebastian Vettel emerges as Rio Haryanto gets in his first timed lap of the day - a 1:38.433 on soft tyres. He improves massively soon after, clocking 1:29.349, but it is not yet enough to lift him off the bottom of the timesheet.

No text accompanying this tweet, but then you don't need any words when you look as awesome as Felipe Nasr.

There's not much happening on the track at the moment, by the way. Rio Haryanto has been out, as has Romain Grosjean. Felipe Massa has also recently joined them.

No sign of Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes yet. Race sim on the agenda once again for the afternoon?
