Out in front is a pretty good place to be in Spain, with 18 of the 25 Spanish grands prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Cataluyna having been won from pole position. Just two races have been from behind the front row.

The Silver Arrows are firmly in the driving seat.

Not a great day for Sebastian Vettel as he qualified sixth. I suppose the good news as far as he is concerned is that Daniil Kvyat is down in 13th...

Really happy to be in front of both Ferarris as well. Max was doing really good - we are both on the second row so that's pretty awesome. We chipped away at it and it took a bit of time to come. I knew I had the pace and knew I could do it but it was just about putting it together. I did what I had to do so I was really happy.

I'm of course disappointed to be second. I wanted to be first today of course but Lewis was quicker in qualifying today and that's it. But fortunately it's the race that counts. But there are still a couple of opportunities to take the points tomorrow. Strategy wise, it's not going to be an easy race tomorrow so I will try and take my chances at the start.

As Lewis Hamilton says, if he has no reliability issues he puts that car on pole. It's his third this season after Australia and Bahrain.

Very very happy with getting the lap. Obviously Nico has been really strong all week so bit by bit i have been trying to put the pace together. The guys back at the factory have been working so hard to try to rectify the problems we have had over the past few weeks. This is now three out of three for me so I'm obviously pretty happy.

To lock out the second row, the boys have done a magic job there. Daniel Riccardo's last lap was pretty awesome and Max, well what can you say - it justifies why he is in that seat

Second row lockout for Red Bull and I bet Christian Horner and Helmut Marko are sitting with some pretty big grins on their faces now.

Daniel Ricciardo put in a brilliant final lap, but you've got to think that the pressure from the brilliant Max Verstappen forced him to up his game.

That 43 point advantage Rosberg has at the top of the driver's championship has a good chance of coming down tomorrow.
