Racing driving helmet back on... The first person you look at when you come back into the pits is where your team mate is and then you look at the gap to see who's ahead and who's behind and then you delve into the data to see why you are slower on that first sector.

Speaking to the Williams team earlier, Massa has said he hasn't felt comfortable in the car this weekend so it isn't a massive surprise he is down in 18th.

Massa is out of qualifying! I don't think that is the realistic pace of the Williams. He has got a lot of work to do tomorrow. A very frustrating day for Felipe Massa.

Oh Jenson, you've had McLaren fans' hearts beating there. He pulls a 1:25.582 out of the bag at the last to leap up to 12th, eliminating Jolyon Palmer instead.

Hang on!? Jolyon Palmer has pulled himself out of trouble, for now, pushing Felipe Massa in the drop zone. Massa is in the pits, so he is out!

Jenson Button is in a spot of bother here, and McLaren are nervous. The Briton, currently 17th, has just been sent out to sneak in another lap before the time's up. Nico Hulkenberg is also living dangerously.

Fantastic lap by Verstappen! Very very good. Basically hustled the car and threw it around the track in order to get the lap time.

Oh it's good from Max Verstappen! He crosses the line to post a 1:23.578, putting him P3. He's half a second down on Nico Rosberg's time but ahead of both Ferraris.

The Ferraris and the Red Bulls have also joined the fun as Sergio Perez does a 1:24.854 to go P3. Ten times on the board at the moment with seven minutes to go.

It was indeed oil burning, so all good. It's 1:23.214 for Lewis Hamilton. Go grab a cup of tea, Lewis, that'll see you comfortably into Q2.

He probably still won't like this, though, as Nico Rosberg knocks two tenths of a second off his time to go quickest.

We are opposite the Mercedes garage here from our commentary position and as Lewis Hamilton pulled out, a large plume of smoke appeared out of the back of his car. Let's hope its just some oil burning off but with his reliability issues he's had, I wouldn't rule anything out
