Speaking of Chris Rea, anyone seen his film 'La Passione' about German racing driver Wolfgang Von Trips?

He had a replica Ferrari 156 built specifically for that film. Wonder whatever happened to it?

Twenty years ago, Michael Schumacher won his first race for Ferrari at the Spanish Grand Prix.

It was a stunning drive in the wet - the last wet race in Spain - as he lapped the entire field up to third.

It was, as Andrew Benson describes, an epic victory. You can read about it here.

Lewis Hamilton has channelled his inner-Oasis as he looks to kick start his season today.

"I’m very, very happy," he said after qualifying.

"Nico has been very strong all weekend. Step by step, little by little I’m trying to put it together and rectify the issues we've had."

  11. Worrying times at Ferrari?published at 12:10 British Summer Time 15 May 2016

“There were confused faces at Ferrari after qualifying as the team struggled to take in the one second-plus margin to Mercedes.

"What on earth had gone wrong? They weren’t absolutely sure. But the fingers pointed at the tyres - they were out of the correct operating temperature window, even if Ferrari were not sure why that was. ‘The car was not behaving similar to what we've had all weekend,’ said Sebastian Vettel, who had a scrappy session and ended up behind team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. ‘It was worse and that explains why we lost performance, but we don't know why it was worse. I don't believe there's one corner we were losing [time] - it was pretty much all of them, which would suggest it was a lack of overall grip.’

"Vettel claimed that it was not down to ‘a general lack of speed - we have proven in all sessions so far that we were quite competitive’. He had a point - to an extent. But it had to be said that at no point had Ferrari appeared anywhere near the pace of Mercedes.

"These are worrying times at Maranello.”

The pressure is on at Ferrari, and not just because they are without a win so far this season.

President Sergio Marchionne is at the track and will have a keen eye on how Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel get on today.

“Qualifying is one thing; the race another. And Hamilton and Rosberg both know there is a lot of hard work before the points are shared out this weekend, even if the Mercedes are in a league of their own. Hamilton said the race would be ‘hard work’. And Rosberg was his usual pragmatic self: ‘It is not going to be easy to win because it is notoriously difficult to get past on this track. but there are some opportunities. For sure Lewis is not going to be at the highest of his confidences with the way the first four starts have gone and tyre-wise it is going to be a challenge so another one there.’”

Ever since Lewis Hamilton collected his third world title at the United States Grand Prix at the end of October, the response from Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg has been emphatic.

Seven races, seven wins. Will he get an eighth today?

“What had Nico Rosberg thought when he came back into the garage at the end of second qualifying and looked at the data from the stupendous lap from Lewis Hamilton that had come out of nowhere? ‘I was thinking, “That’s not looking good!”’ he said, laughing. ‘I was surprised by that lap time, he really made a huge step from Q1. But then i come back to the self-confidence of knowing that if he can do it, I can be at least close to that. so it was just a matter of digging through it and sorting the car out and getting the job done, so it’s OK. He got towards it - taking 0.3secs off his own best on his first lap in Q2 and another 0.2secs on his second. But he never matched that Q2 lap by Hamilton - and the world champion had by then moved the goalposts again anyway.”
