Right then.
Hold on to your sofa arms. This promises to be a thrilling battle for pole position and it is under way.

Interesting call from Red Bull. Ricciardo will start the race on super-softs - so will run longer before pit stop and try to win that way

Quote MessageWonderful to hear Max Verstappen being so open and honest after making a mistake. I can think of a handful of drivers who would have perhaps said the car was over-steering, or he didn't have enough heat in the tyres, and and, and, and, and, and! He admitted he just got it wrong and you sense with him that he will bounce back from this very quickly. Had that misjudgement happened at any other track then we wouldn't have even noticed but mistakes of the smallest margins get punished around here and that is why we love Monaco.
Quote MessageOf course that is not the way you want to start for tomorrow. I turned in a bit too early, broke the suspension and then couldn't recover from it. It's a case of misjudgement - that is all.
Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing driver
It's look like another Mercedes battle for pole position then. Question is, who will it be? Just 0.013s between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton there. Nowt, as we say in Yorkshire.
1) Rosberg 2) Hamilton 3) Vettel 4) Ricciardo 5) Raikkonen 6) Kvyat 7) Sainz 8) Perez 9) Hulkenberg 10) Alonso
11) Bottas 12) Gutierrez 13) Button 14) Massa 15) Grosjean 16) Magnussen
Nico Rosberg finishes fastest in the second part of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.
Right at the death Nico Rosberg clocks a 1:14.043 and leaps into P1, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
No improvement from Jenson Button and he's not going to be in the top 10 shootout.

That's it. Neither Williams will progress through to the top ten shoot out.
And Felipe Massa pits. No place in the top 10 for the Brazilian either.
Valtteri Bottas so he won't be making into Q3. All Williams hopes now on Felipe Massa.
Meanwhile, Sergio Perez is on the bubble in 10th with seconds left.
Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa are still in trouble and time is running out. Should they have gone out earlier? They are 11th and 12th respectively with two minutes remaining.
Oof, we nearly had a copy of Max Verstappen's crash from earlier as Nico Rosberg is within a whisker of touching the same barrier that Verstappen touched that resulted in him flying into the wall.
Nothing more than a close shave in the end though.
Six minutes to go and the top 10 looks like this:
1) Hamilton 2) Rosberg 3) Ricciardo 4) Vettel 5) Kvyat 6) Sainz 7) Raikkonen 8) Hulkenberg 9) Alonso 10) Perez
In trouble are Jenson Button, Valtteri Bottas, Romain Grosjean, Esteban Gutierrez, Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Massa.
Quote MessageNot a good session but it's kind of how it goes really. I'm disappointed to be behind a Sauber. It's Monaco and not easy to over take so we have to hope for some rain. The track needs no more words. It's the best ever.

Nico Rosberg can't top that lap from Lewis Hamilton as he goes second quickest with an effort that is 0.435s down on his team-mate's time. Daniel Ricciardo is third quickest with Sebastian Vettel fourth but there's just 0.06s between the trio from second.
