Amit Mandalia: It could be that Ferrari may be using older spec engines today and put in the upgraded Montreal spec tonight for FP3 onwards?
Halfway through FP2 and it's a familiar one-two at the top. Lewis Hamilton followed by Nico Rosberg.
But no Red Bull or Ferrari in the top six.
It's Sergio Perez's Force India in P3, Valtteri Bottas' Williams P4, Nico Hulkenberg's Force India P5 and Carlos Sainz's Toro Rosso P6.
Lewis Hamilton looks like he's had a wobbly second sector, but plants a PB in the third sector and he goes seven tenths of a second quicker than Nico Rosberg.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner said in the break that he suspected Ferrari did not have their cars tuned into the top settings.
That must still be the case, as Sebastian Vettel is sixth, 1.3secs off Nico Rosberg.
Kimi Raikkonen has just crossed the line and it's only good enough for P10.
While Fernando Alonso's McLaren is being looked at by engineers, team-mate Jenson Button is making hay.
The Briton is at the dizzying heights of P7.
Here he goes...
He's wide at Turn 16 and it's cost him, just. He's 0.189secs off Nico Rosberg.
Nico Rosberg is now the fastest man in Baku and the first man to break the 1:45.00 mark.
Lewis Hamilton is also on super softs and will be hunting down his team-mate.

"Sauber have had to change the power unit in Marcus Ericsson's car. I have tried to ask the team whether that was just a Friday power unit or a race power unit
"They refused to tell me so I cant tell if that is big trouble, little trouble or just normal trouble..."
Nice work from Carlos Sainz as he leaps up to P4 with a 1:46.671.
You may recall that Sauber reported they had changed the power unit in Marcus Ericsson's car ahead of FP2.
He's yet to register a time in this session.

Rachel T: Alonso's car sounded very much like my 1983 Austin Metro then.
Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are out on super soft tyres.
What's that noise? It sounds like a walrus trying to do a half marathon.
Oh, it's Fernando Alonso's McLaren, which has some sort of issue as he coasts into the garage. We'll keep an eye on that.
Jenson Button retired with a gearbox issue in last week's race, if you recall.
Right. Lewis Hamilton continues to set the pace. A 1:45.102 is the time to beat. Nico Rosberg is 0.7 secs further back.
Meanwhile, the Toro Rosso boys are having a bit of a personal tussle. Daniil Kvyat has usurped Carlos Sainz to go into ninth.

Yes, Joe. You're a hero.

Update on tyres - the main problem was there are two points on the track that were causing the cuts to the tyres we have been seeing.
I assume one is Turn Two but according to Pirelli, during this session, so far so good. The mandatory tyres that have been selected are the medium and the soft...
And anyway, lay-off Kimi, Jack. He's a man of the people - look!
We're chatting about Carlos Sainz because he's just posted a time to put him up into P8 - ahead of both of the Red Bulls.

"I think Carlos Sainz was very impressive last season. He didn't have the eye catching overtakes or amazing moments that Max Verstappen had but he is doing everything he needs to do to prove he is quick.
"If I were Ferarri, I would put Sainz in the car over Kimi Raikkonen everyday of the week but then again I would put my Grandma in over Kimi Raikkonen!"
Ferrari tell Kimi Raikkonen that race control have instructed drivers to avoid the exit kerb on Turn Six.
Should cars be driving around a track which has bits that you can't drive on?
Max Verstappen now heads into the Turn Three run-off.
They should set up a little coffee shop there - they'd make a fortune.
He must have slammed on the brakes as smoke pours from a tyre.
There's nothing more gratifying as a mere mortal driver than watching a professional having to perform a tight three-point turn to get out of a tight situation. Like Austin Powers in that little buggy.
