Felipe Massa has pitted and, unlike most of his fellow drivers, he has gone for mediums. It looks like he is going for a one stopper. He's down in 20th at the moment.

Jamie Fuller: So radio regs allow timing and gaps, but not faults and failures. Shouldn't that be the other way round?

Kate M: Listening to #BBCF1, external and wondering what stupid rule they'll come up with next - drivers must get out and change their own tyres?

  4. Lap 26/70published at 13:42 British Summer Time 24 July 2016

Lewis Hamilton is given a little nudge over the radio to pick up the pace a bit.

"I'm working on it," is his response.

His pace has improved. Nico Rosberg was within a second of Hamilton, but that gap is now 1.3s.

How many laps can you get out of the soft tyres? Before the race, the speculation was 30 laps but the track temperature is the highest it's been all weekend. If it is 30 laps, we'll see drivers coming in around lap 40 and trying to nurse it round to the end of the race.

The closest battle in the top 10 is between Max Verstappen, currently sixth, and Kimi Raikkonen, who is fifth. Verstappen is eight tenths of a second behind Raikkonen, who is still out on the same set of softs he started the race on.

Kevin Magnussen pits for the first time before running those supersofts into the ground. He decides to stick with the red-rimmed tyres, so he'll have to stop again.

    He's back out in 16th.

Rosberg did all his race preparation on Friday afternoon and knows the soft tyre he is using now very, very well now. Lewis Hamilton had an accident after just four laps then. Logic would suggest Rosberg has the advantage with this tyre.

I'd be very surprised if anyone tries a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre at this stage of the race. It's all about staying as close as possible and pitting at the right time.

Darth Lordi: It's right for Button to get the drive-through penalty. If he needed engineer's help he should pit to ask them.

Richard Ashton: Either F1 is a team sport where the team can help a driver, or it's not, and the driver must make every decision themselves.

Stuart: F1 must be the only sport in the world that changes it's rules every year! Unless it's a safety rules, leave it alone.

George Adams: The radio rules are the dumbest of a long list of dumb things #F1, external has done in recent years.

Further down the field, Jolyon Palmer is into the top 10. He's currently running in eighth but hasn't stopped yet.

His Renault team-mate, Kevin Magnussen, is also powering on in ninth, but he's on supersofts and they'll be approaching the end of their life.

Meanwhile, Daniel Ricciardo is absolutely flying. His latest lap is a full second quicker than both Mercedes, but he's got 5.7s to make up.

"Daniel, you are doing a good job, mate," comes the encouraging message over the Red Bull radio.

Max Verstappen, on the fresher tyres, has Kimi Raikkonen in his sights. He is right up behind the Ferrari and his presence possibly prompts an error from Raikkonen as he has a wobble at Turn 2. Verstappen can't take advantage, though, and Raikkonen stays in fifth for now.

Guy Masters: Radio regs a farce. An overkill solution to a minor problem. If radio is such a problem make teams switch it off.

Andri Pratama: This rule just stupid, so team just let driver blows the car to bits now eh?

Gav: Get rid of the radio ban, you're ruining racing with these stupid rules
