That was brilliant timing for that pit stop - Vettel has come out just in front of team-mate Kimi Raikkonen and has a clear track in front of him. That could make the difference in terms of getting ahead of Verstappen.

Jenson Button: "So the brake pedal going to the floor is not a safety issue?

"I think someone needs to read up what is safe and what isn't."

I think the Briton is deeply unimpressed with his drive-through penalty following those earlier radio communications.

  8. Lap 12/70published at 13:23 British Summer Time 24 July 2016

We're looking at a two horse race that is increasingly looking like becoming a one-horse race. The Mercedes are lapping a full second quicker than the Red Bulls.

Sean Harrison: A drive-through penalty for giving Button a reliability radio message? People in charge at FIA should be sacked. Rank incompetence.

Quixotic Geek: FIA, your radio rules are stupid, how much longer do we have to tell you this before you'll listen. Fix it.

William Lloyd: The radio comms rules are too tight. Stupid penalties all round. (Unless it's Rosberg. Just saying).

Adrian Kellers: These radio comm rules are absolute garbage.

If I were Red Bull, I would be bringing in one of my cars now and get the undercut. You can get to the end of the race from here on a two-stop strategy.

  11. Lap 11/70published at 13:21 British Summer Time 24 July 2016

They are being very, very stringent with this radio rule - a lot of the drivers don't like it. These hybrid power units are so complicated, it's a big ask for them not to be given some advice when there's a problem. Button can argue he wasn't being coached how to drive the car.

Max Verstappen comes on the radio to tell his team: "I'm driving like a grandma."

Not really a criticism of himself as it turns out. The Flying Dutchman is following closely behind team-mate Daniel Ricciardo and is none-too-subtly suggesting that he could be going faster if he was released.

  20. Lap 6/70published at 13:13 British Summer Time 24 July 2016

Jenson Button continues to drop back down the field. Race over? No, he's told to stay out.
