  2. 'We are going in the right direction'published at 15:32 British Summer Time 4 September 2016

Fourth-placed Kimi Raikkonen tells Sky Sports: "It was the fastest way from start to finish for us. Fortunately it was not enough for better results, but at least we gave them (Mercedes) something to think about.

"Third and fourth is not what we were looking for but that is what we got. In the last few weekends it looks like we are going in the right direction, so we have to keep that up and see what it brings."

Jenson Button on Sky Sports after finishing 12th: "I'm glad yesterday is behind me. I had a terrible first lap. I couldn't have wished for any better with the package we have at the moment. I went through the gravel on the first turn and was last so to come through and be so close to 11th is not too bad I think from last.

"I actually think it's one of my best races."

  6. 'We knew we would struggle'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 4 September 2016

Fernando Alonso made a late tyre change and set the fastest lap, but still finished 14th.

"We had some new sets at the end, and some things to try," Alonso tells Sky Sports. "We were able to put in a good lap, it did not change the feeling of not feeling fast enough. We knew we would struggle at this circuit but good races are coming up.

"We know what we are doing, we know our weaknesses and the strong points of the car. We have some races that should be good for us and we need to execute them perfectly and get the points."

So what does Daniil Kvyat, who retired after 36 laps, make of it all?

There have been rumours that he will not even be racing in the next GP at Singapore.

He tells Sky Sports: "I don't really care about these rumours. I'm just doing my job, whatever they decide they decide."

Remember the face of Pierre Gasly. You may never see him again once Helmut Marko gets his hands on him.

Frenchman Gasly, Toro Rosso's reserve driver and the current GP2 leader, has been quoted on Spanish TV saying Daniil Kvyat's Toro Rosso seat will be his next season.

Marko, one of the most terrifying men in motorsport and Red Bull's development boss, has just said on Sky Sports it's "absolute rubbish".

"It’s news to me and believe me I will be on the phone immediately," he added.

"At the moment whatever goes wrong goes wrong on Daniil's car. We will be patient. The bad luck has to stop. When we have enough information we will make a decision."

  9. 'Easy, breezy for Nico'published at 15:12 British Summer Time 4 September 2016

Lewis Hamilton remains in the lead in the title race after coming second to team-mate Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton tells Sky Sports: "It was a pretty simple weekend compared to the last one. The start was the decider of the race and after that I was just trying to get back into second to reduce the damage.

"It just sucks having to follow here. Nico was pulling away having an easy, breezy run and that is what happens when you are in front. He did a great job. We were never under a massive threat from Ferrari."

Steve Hampson: I would love to ask Seb Vettel if it feels good to be 'best of the rest'.

Denislov Lietnev: Nothing spectacular from Rosberg this season so far. He relies on Hamilton's car troubles or so!

Marco Valk: No moans about any Verstappen moves makes a dull race. You complainers happy now?

  15. Bad starts? 'It can happen'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 4 September 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff tells BBC Radio 5 live about Lewis Hamilton's poor start, which cost him victory.

"Lewis came on the radio and said it was his mistake and we have to analyse it," Wolff says

"We want to give more responsibility to the driver and this time it went against him. But he has had many good starts and it can happen."

Fifth-placed Daniel Ricciardo talks us through that lovely overtake on Valtteri Bottas.

The Australian tells Sky Sports: "I thought 'just have a go'. I was behind Valtteri for a long part of the race, even though I was far back I was going to have a go.

"I knew he would not turn into me and cause an accident. We didn't touch, it was clean, it was good fun.

"I'm pleased. Coming into this race you hope for a podium but we knew Ferrari had the edge on us. Fifth was our objective and we go it."

Nico Rosberg is winning this crowd over - although he's had go into absolute suck-up mode to do it.

"I feel a part of me is Italian because I have a lot of friends and grew up with the culture so it's special."

He then starts speaking Italian, telling the crowd they are beautiful, and then starts a rendition of White Stripe's Seven Nation Army.

"Duh, duh duh duh duhhhh duh."

It works. They sing along. That could have been really awkward.
