Right people. I'm liking these F1 pub names but Mark Gallagher in the 5 live sports extra commentary box is proving a tough man to please.

Time to up the ante, get your thinking caps on and see if you can get an F1 pub name in that meets Gallagher's high standards before the end of final practice. Send to #bbcf1, external

Max Verstappen joins the part as he goes third quickest, doing a 1:36.109. Like his Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo, he is on mediums. He's not completely happy at the moment.

"Just to report, at Turn One and Two it feels like the engine is braking down too much," he says.

Half an hour to go and Lewis Hamilton jumps to the top of the timesheet, doing a 1:35.612 but Daniel Ricciardo promptly goes a tenth of a second quicker.

However, Hamilton has mediums on his Mercedes, while Ricciardo did his time on the faster softs.

Advantage Mercedes for now, it seems.

This was the view Nico Rosberg got when he came round the corner to see Esteban Gutierrez staring at him.

The German is still top of the timesheet, by the way. Lewis Hamilton backed out of that quick lap he was on.

Now Sebastian Vettel falls victim to the slippery surface, spinning at the slow speed left hander that is Turn 15, knocking over the pit lane entry marker bollard as he does so.

With no spinning cars to dodge, Nico Rosberg promptly goes quickest with 1:36.361.

It might be a short stay at the top, though. Lewis Hamilton is fastest of all through sectors one and two...

Esteban Gutierrez's spin led Nico Rosberg to backing out of doing a quick lap so it is Lewis Hamilton who sets the first Mercedes time in this session, going second quickest with 1:36.474.

Esteban Gutierrez spins at Turn 15 and finds himself facing the wrong way, just off the track. He watches Nico Rosberg sail past before righting himself.

Oversteer comes out of nowhere on this track, the drivers have been saying. This is a new surface and it takes a while for the asphalt to cure. It is quite an oily surface and rubber is going down all the time but stray off the racing line a little bit then you will have snap oversteer. That will make overtaking quite difficult tomorrow and it could be a very eventful race.

The track has been resurfaced since the last time the drivers were here and consequently some of them are having a few wobbles on the less grippy parts. Romain Grosjean is one of the drivers to have a moment, running wide at Turn 6.

The two Mercedes drivers have also joined the action. The only driver yet to make an appearance on the circuit is Felipe Nasr.

Nico Hulkenberg looked like he was itching to get in the car earlier and he's got his wish. He's been strapped in and sent on his way and swiftly slots into second place as he does a 1:36.625.

Fernando Alonso's penalty is up to 45 grid-place penalties after extra new components were added to his car which means he will start from the back of the grid, so we won't see much of him in qualifying. His work in this session will be entirely focused on race preparation tomorrow.

Kevin Magnussen gets the first time on the board with 1:40.272 and then swiftly improves by shaving two tenths of a second off that time.

We are yet to see some of the front runners out on the track. Mercedes are certainly in no hurry, with Nico Rosberg giving the camera a thumbs up as it zooms in on him checking out a data screen.
