    "Both cars struggling with temps?" asks Lewis Hamilton, referring to Valtteri Bottas.

    He's told they are but Bottas has the advantage of free air ahead of him.

    Meanwhile, Max Verstappen reports blistering of his left front tyre. The Red Bull is currently fifth, 18 seconds behind Hamilton's Mercedes.

    The front runners are yet to make their first stops on the ultrasofts. 

    Only Stoffel Vandoorne, Pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson have pitted. They started on the softs and went on to the ultrasofts when the safety car came out.

    "Is the car OK?" asks Lewis Hamilton.

    "Yep, the car is on the limit, Lewis. Keep doing what you are doing," is the reply.

    At least he can now see the Ferrari ahead of him.

    McLaren's Fernando Alonso has been speaking to Tom Clarkson about his failure to take the start.

    "It's obviously frustrating. Four races into the championship, four DNFs. This time we did not even make the start. That's sad but there's nothing we can do. 

    "I come here, drive as fast as I can to try and help the team. We just hope the next race will be better.

    "I'm just a driver. I help the team but the team have to look at the bigger picture."

    Now Lewis Hamilton is the fastest of anyone... but it almost comes at a cost.

    "My temperatures are going back up," he says as he pulls the gap between himself and Kimi Raikkonen down to 2.9 seconds.

    Valtteri Bottas responds by doing the fastest lap of the race - a 1:38.404. The gap goes up to 4.6 seconds.

    Despite being reassured, Lewis Hamilton is still very concerned.

    "Why's my car over-heating, guys? I feel like I'm out of the race."

    Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel has cranked it up, putting in the fastest lap of the race with 1:38.519. He's 4.4 seconds behind Valtteri Bottas.

    Lewis Hamilton has dropped off a bit as he continues to manage the temperature in his Mercedes. The gap between himself and Kimi Raikkonen is up to four seconds.

    "Other cars are struggling. We are not the only ones," Hamilton is told in reference to temperatures.

    The top four are way ahead of the rest with Max Verstappen, in fifth, running 10 seconds behind Lewis Hamilton.

    Stoffel Vandoorne, who started at the back, is up to 14th but has a five-second time penalty to serve.

    Jolyon Palmer has been speaking to the BBC's Tom Clarkson about that first-corner collision with Romain Grosjean.

    "He jumped the kerb and ended up going into the side of me," the Renault driver said. 

    "He was too ambitious. If you come in from the inside, it always bunches on the apex. I had cars outside me.

    "I had to turn the corner and hope he used his brain..."

    Bottas currently leads Vettel by almost four seconds.
