11:53 BST 14 May 2017Fernando Alonso, fresh from the drivers' parade, is currently firing t-shirts into the crowd using a t-shirt gun while having a Jamon slung over his shoulder. As you do.
He's loving it though. There's a massive smile on his face. Good to see after one heck of a frustrating season for the two-time world champion.

It's a very arty theme to today's coverage thanks to Lewis Hamilton chatting about Picasso and this chap drawing caricatures. Excellent caricatures I must say - big fan of the Kimi one.
Right, we've got over an hour to go until lights out so let's have a bit of fun. Got a pen and paper handy? Got a drawing app on your phone or computer? Then why not send us your F1 drawings. This can be anything - drivers, a metaphor for something F1-related. Anything. The canvas is blank.

Chief F1 writer in BarcelonaBest of the rest behind the top three? You would have got pretty good odds against that being Fernando Alonso’s McLaren before the weekend, and even less after his engine lunched itself in spectacular fashion on his first lap out of the pits in Friday practice. But there he is, after a stupendous performance in qualifying. How did he do it? Well, obviously the driver is pretty good.
“That’s where your $40m goes; that’s what justifies it,” said a senior figure from another team. But beyond that, this is one of the tracks where engine performance is least important in the overall performance picture - about fourth or fifth lowest, Alonso said.
The McLaren chassis is pretty good - not at the level of Mercedes or Ferrari, the team believe, but as good as anything else. And the numbers based on the believed power deficit of the Honda engine - at least 100bhp to Mercedes/Ferrari; at least 70bhp to the Renault - back that up. And Honda has made a small improvement this weekend with what F1 boss Yusuke Hasegawa said was to the induction and fuel system.
Alonso the magicianpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 14 May 2017
11:43 BST 14 May 2017It wasn't Jenson Button, but Fernando Alonso certainly pulled something out of the hat as he secured a stunning seventh in qualifying.
That was even more impressive considering he managed to navigate just a couple of corners before his McLaren conked out in first practice, prompting him to go off and play tennis.

Chief F1 writer in BarcelonaIt is another glorious day in northern Spain. There are a few more clouds around than over the practice and qualifying days, but it’s a balmy mid-20Cs and sunny as Mercedes and Ferrari prepare for round five of their ding-dong battle for the championship.
Sebastian Vettel could have been on pole, Lewis Hamilton is. Valtteri Bottas is starting from exactly where he was when he won in Russia two weeks ago and Kimi Raikkonen under-performed in qualifying after being on the pace all weekend.
Add in two more-competitive Red Bulls and a Fernando Alonso determined to be in the top five within the first couple of laps after a season’s-best seventh place on the grid and it’s looking pretty tasty at the front.
'Picasso never asked for advice'published at 11:33 British Summer Time 14 May 2017
11:33 BST 14 May 2017“I want to race for all the time needed to become the greatest of all time," says Lewis Hamilton,, external who starts on pole position for today's Spanish Grand Prix.
“I want to achieve it on my own. You teach yourself. I don’t believe Picasso went to other painters asking for advice, right?
“He followed his own path. F1 isn’t like karate where you need a coach. In a racing car, the only rule is yourself.”
The Picasso of Formula 1?published at 11:32 British Summer Time 14 May 2017
11:32 BST 14 May 2017Like Pablo Picasso in painting, Lewis Hamilton wants to leave a legacy in Formula 1.
Already a three-time world champion, the Briton is hungry for a fourth that would see him surpass the record of his hero Ayrton Senna.
Hamilton has the chance to swing the title battle back in his favour at today's Spanish Grand Prix but to do that he must fend off the challenge of an already four-time world champion.
Sebastian Vettel found out in qualifying that there can be no room for error. Will Hamilton produce a picture perfect race today?
