This is how Tom Clarkson's predictions looked before today and I find it hard to argue with.

There's no chance Lewis Hamilton will be eight tenths off the pace in qualifying, but has he got enough to pinch pole ahead of Sebastian Vettel?

Qualifying in Monaco - one of the highlights. Qualifying for the teams in Monaco - nerve wracking.

Get it right, stunning. Get it wrong - 15th on the grid.

Hello! Welcome to our coverage of qualifying for Monaco Grand Prix - often one of the greatest parts of a Formula 1 season.

The tight and twisty streets are uncompromising - as a couple of F1's rookies have found out so far this week - meaning if you are not at the top of your game, you get punished.

Sebastian Vettel is a man who looks on top of his game after topping final practice, 0.345s quicker than Kimi Raikkonen.

Lewis Hamilton is a man who hasn't looked on top of his game as he finished FP3 fifth quickest, eight tenths down on Vettel. Surely the gap won't be so big in qualifying, will it?

Sebastian Vettel. No, wait. Kimi Raikkonen. No, Bottas... or maybe Verstappen... or Hamilton!

Honestly, for the first time this season, I can't say with any confidence who is going to take pole position...

Sebastian Vettel was pretty much flawless in final practice as he finished the session 0.345s quicker than Kimi Raikkonen and eight tenths quicker than Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari are looking absolutely on it. Mercedes? Plenty of work to do.

Things are certainly set up for one of the best qualifying sessions of the season. Fancy trying to predict the top three? Have a go here.

We're back at 12:00 BST for build up to qualifying (13:00 BST). See you then.

Last-minute drama for Daniel Ricciardo. He's gone off at Sainte-Devote and there's smoke/steam coming from his front wheels.

"BBW fail," he says, confirming a brake-by-wire issue.

Esteban Ocon climbs out of his car. He's fine but Force India now face a race against time to get his car ready for qualifying.

Replays show Ocon has clipped the barrier coming out of the Swimming Pool section, wrecking the suspension and he went over the kerb and into the wall.

The marshals struggle to detach the Force India from the barrier but eventually manage it and we're good to go again with three minutes on the clock.
