English IndyCar driver Jay Howard: "Yeh I am fine. Credit to Indycar and everone involved in building this car. We are both safe.
"I am really glad Scott is okay because he got dragged into that. But you know - it sucks.
"We were a couple of laps down and ran out of fuel so were looking to get some yellows. To say I am unhappy is an understatement.
"Ryan Hunter-Reay caused a massive accident and pushed me out onto the marbles - I was just a passenger from there".
Good news from the medical centre as Scott Dixon has been checked, cleared, and released.
It's unbelievable that he managed to walk away from that crash, let alone get passed fit less than an hour later.
That crash for Scott Dixon caps a pretty rubbish week all-in-all. The New Zealander was robbed at gunpoint at a fast-food restaurant hours after taking pole position for the Indy 500.
The 36-year-old was in a car with Briton Dario Franchitti - a three-time Indy 500 winner - when the incident happened.
The cars are all lined up in the pits waiting for the restart as some marshals position a new bit of fencing over the hole.
An IndyCar medical update confirms Jay Howard has been checked, cleared, and released.
I'm sitting mouth open every time I watch a replay of the crash. I've only just noticed that Helio Castroneves was also fortunate to avoid getting caught up in it all as he was passing under Scott Dixon's car when it was airborne.
The safety barriers took a battering in that crash and it's going to take a while to get that repaired. Good time to get a brew while we wait for the Indy 500 to get back under way.
If you are not able to watch the Indy 500 we will have video highlights of the Indy 500 online later.

Actually, Dixon came down on the wall side-first. Could have been horrific. Red flag to clean up the track
The race is being stopped so the debris from the two cars can be cleared and there's A LOT of debris.
The safety cell did its job for both drivers but it's hard to describe just how big that crash was.

Crikey Dixon was lucky. Howard lost it and collected him, launching the New Zealander. Thankfully, came down bottom first on the inside wall.
Replays show Jay Howard losing control and going straight into the barrier before bouncing back in front of Scott Dixon's car. Dixon is sent spinning into the air and his car smashes into the opposite barrier. A horrible looking crash but both drivers are OK.
