Britain's Pippa Mann has dropped from 28th to 30th while her compatriot Max Chilton is currently 26th.
Fernando Alonso is not getting carried away. He's pacing himself and biding his time to continue his climb up the order. Long way to go in this.

The pace car is leading the grid away.
It's the job of the pace car to lead the field to the green flag and, generally, this responsibility has fallen to a celebrity or a racing a legend.
Behind the wheel of this year's pace car, which is a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, is actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, star of The Walking Dead and Grey's Anatomy.
In pretty much every year since 1936 it has been tradition for the Indy 500 to be awarded the pace car as a prize, or at least a replica.

The cars are away for the formation lap. A pick up truck at the back of the field has a massive American flag fluttering behind it. I mean massive. So American.
The drivers are in their cars, the stands are packed. It's time to start those engines!
