Daniil Kvyat tags the barrier at Turn 14 with his right rear, ripping a huge chunk of barrier paper off the barrier. Yellow flags are waved as a mashal legs it onto the track to clear it away.

That means when he needs to security when he comes off the apex of the corner he just doesn't quite have it. He wants a bit more stability when he goes back on the throttle.
"The rear end is a bit weak," says Valtteri Bottas.
Nothing special from Valtteri Bottas on the super-softs. He improves from 12th but a 1:44.309 is only good enough for fourth - four tenths down on Max Verstappen's time on the softs.
My word. Sergio Perez was incredibly close to repeating his crash from this morning after kissing the barrier he smacked into in first practice.

Romain Grosjean might take a little longer than the rest to head out on the super-softs. His car is up on the stand at the moment as Haas mechanics twiddle with the brakes.
Bottas and Kvyat are the only drivers out on track at the moment as everyone else prepares to join them for quali sims.
The super-softs are coming out to play as we enter qualifying simulation runs. Valtteri Bottas and Daniil Kvyat have moved onto that compound - the fastest available in Baku.
Esteban Ocon comes mighty close to replicating his team-mate Sergio Perez's antics from this morning by planting the Force India into the wall. He just manages to avoid kissing it, much to the relief of the team's engineers.

Force India appear to have the pace around this circuit as Esteban Ocon goes third quickest, seven tenths down on Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez then bumps his team-mate down to fourth as he goes two hundredths of a second quicker.
Romain Grosjean heads down the escape road, you know what's coming...
"This is ridiculous," he grumbles.
Max Verstappen lowers the benchmark by three seconds with a 1:43.988. That prevents Lewis Hamilton from taking top spot after the Briton did a 1:44.525.
Rachel Bridge: This is what @McLarenF1, external fans love to see.. both in top 10 and Nando in SECOND!!
Quick, get a screengrab of this - McLaren are second on the timesheet as Fernando Alonso does a 1:46.024, two seconds down on Max Verstappen's benchmark time.
The escape road into Turn One is welcoming a few drivers today. Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz have both been down there already in this session.
Who had 10 minutes into the session for Romain Grosjean complaining about brakes bingo?
"I don't know what to say," he says. "When I hit the brakes the bite is not there."

The Force India guys have just balanced Sergio Perez's car - the last job they have to do before putting the tyres on. The team have done such a sterling job and this car is ready to go out at any moment.
