Incidentally, Ricciardo has a 3.8-second cushion to the drop zone, so there is every likelihood he will make it into Q2.

But will his team have any time to fix the car? Seems unlikely.

The Red Bull team aren't having much luck. Max Verstappen hasn't finished four of the last five races and, even though it's not his car today, I bet his heart has sunk just a little bit.

Ricciardo's car needs to be safely removed so race control throws the red flag.

The Red Bull driver - who don't forget will serve a five-place penalty after a gearbox change - is out of the car and walking alongside it as it is pushed away by the marshals.

I'm watching Lewis Hamilton really struggling to get the power down out of the corners. It is a really critical time for him in this session.

"Inters, definitely," says Max Verstappen, perhaps a little smugly.

"It's very slippery," says Valtteri Bottas, on the the slicks.

"Inters definitely the way to go," says Sebastian Vettel.

All the other drivers are going to follow Red Bull's lead here.
