    The Mercedes team are incredibly tense right now.

    In the past we have heard Lewis Hamilton tell his team to be quiet and let him get on with the race but today, I would imagine he is desperate to speak to the pit wall.

    We saw him dart across to the track as if to gesticulate to say "let me get through as I have more of a chance to challenge the Ferraris"

    Max Verstappen finally comes in for his first stop after getting 42 laps out of his super-softs.

    The Dutchman pits from the lead, serves his 10 second time penalty and is back out in fifth on softs.

    Kimi Raikkonen is faster than Sebastian Vettel as he does personal best of 1:22.179, three tenths quicker than Vettel's last lap.

    A conundrum for Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel is still struggling with steering issues and Kimi Raikkonen is concerned about his team-mate's pace.

    "Mercedes are catching," says Raikkonen.

    Valtteri Bottas is 1.6 seconds behind Raikkonen, who is third.

    Lewis Hamilton, on the fresh rubber, is closing in on his Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas, who is currently fourth. The Briton does a 1:21.650, three tenths quicker than Bottas and the gap between the two is down to 0.8 seconds.

    But it doesn't take Fernando Alonso to fight his way past Carlos Sainz on the track as he sweeps around the outside of the Toro Rosso down into Turn 2.

    It's the battle of the Spanish drivers as Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso pit at the same time. Alonso hopes to get the jump on his compatriot but the Toro Rosso comes out just ahead of the McLaren. Sainz is ninth, Alonso 10th.

    Kimi Raikkonen pits, but not before having a whinge about Paul di Resta as he laps the Williams driver.

    "What's he doing? He should stick to reporting," sats the Finn.

    Raikkonen comes back out in third on softs, behind his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

    "I had the speed to stay out," says Raikkonen.

    Now in comes Sebastian Vettel, elevating Kimi Raikkonen into the lead for now. The German comes back out on softs and is ahead of the Mercedes duo.

    Sebastian Vettel is desperate to come in, it seems. "The fronts are not in a healthy state," he says.

    Valtteri Bottas is the first of the front runners to pit. Super-softs are swapped for softs, there's a bit of delay getting the front right on, but Bottas is back out in fifth.
