"OK, Max, that last lap was four tenths quicker than the Mercs," Max Verstappen is told.
"Oops," he replies.
That's pretty much it for qualifying runs as focus switches to the race simulation runs for the remaining 30 minutes.
Daniel Ricciardo was fastest of all through the first sector but the Australian couldn't keep it up for the remainder of his lap and although he improves with 1:46.072 it is only good enough for sixth.
I mentioned earlier that it is 26 years ago to the day that Michael Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut.

Fernando Alonso had a niggly first practice with a few issues hampering his running. It's been much better in second practice and he's just gone 10th quickest on the ultra-softs with a 1:46.743.

Daniel Ricciardo is resisting the urge to join his rivals in doing some quick laps. He's yet to bolt the purple tyres on his Red Bull and is down in 11th.
Paribes: Mercs way tooooo fast at Spa! Maybe it's the right time for Ferraris to change those PUs and suffer grid penalties.

Sebastian Vettel attempts a second lap on the ultra-softs and he does improve in the first sector but doesn't carry that through the next two sectors and stays fifth.
Boom. Lewis Hamilton puts down a 1:44.75 to reclaim top spot. He's two tenths quicker than Kimi Raikkonen and, crucially, half a second quicker than title rival Sebastian Vettel.
On. It.
It's a brief stay for Sebastian Vettel as Valtteri Bottas and then Kimi Raikkonen go quicker, Raikkonen topping the order with a 1:45.015.
But here comes Lewis Hamilton...

And Jolyon Palmer is next to cross the line with ultra-softs on his car. The Briton goes P6, two tenths slower than his Renault team-mate Nico Hulkenberg.
The front runners are out on the track now with purple boots on. Sebastian Vettel is the first start his flying lap...
