Lewis Hamilton pulled it together brilliantly and Kimi Raikkonen was all over the place in that lap. No wonder there was a shake of the head.
All the pressure is on Raikkonen now but he needs to deliver. Pole position was there for him to properly challenge for but he's currently behind Hamilton.
So after that first run the top 10 is:
1) Hamilton
2) Raikkonen
3) Ricciardo
4) Verstappen
5) Bottas
6) Perez
7) Ocon
8) Vandoorne
9) Alonso
10 Hulkenberg

What a lap time for Lewis Hamilton!
He is looking good. He has an advantage over Kimi Raikkonen on that first run.
The Finn can't beat that time by Lewis Hamilton, he's goes second quickest, two tenths down on Hamilton.
Mercedes fans are cheering in the stands. They think Hamilton has this one in the bag.
Wow!
Lewis Hamilton is on it. And I mean on it!
He's somehow found some more pace in the Mercedes that has missing throughout the weekend to go quickest of all with a 1:30.076. A lap record.
All eyes on Kimi Raikkonen.
Everyone apart from Nico Hulkenberg is out on the track.
All Ferrari hope is on Kimi Raikkonen.
If he can qualify ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel may be leaning on him to do him a favour or two tomorrow.

Benjamin Lee: Both McLaren HONDAs into Q3 ahead of Mercedes powered Williams. Are McLaren about to leave Honda and hand Red Bull a good engine?
Jacqui Baker-Stubbs: Both cars for McLaren through to Q3. Nice work Alonso and Vandoorne.
Here we go!
The battle for pole position is under way.

It is a sign of a four-time World Champion that he can remain calm and realistic in a situation when many can't.
He can only do what he can tomorrow.
Sebastian Vettel speaking to BBC Sport: "I am not thinking that far and I am not reflecting too much. I tend to enjoy what I do but obviously there wasn't much to enjoy today.
"It is what it is and you have to take it how it is. I have to be realistic. You never know what can happen.
"What am I aiming for? I can't give you a number but I am just aiming for the maximum.
"We will focus on the first lap and then go from there."

You wonder whether Ferrari and Vettel will do a full engine upgrade because even if they get a grid penalty, they're still starting last.
