What a performance from Pierre Gasly. That is quicker than his incredibly experienced teammate.
That is incredible from Gasly.
Lewis Hamilton finishes fastest in the first part of qualifying.
Incredible stuff from Pierre Gasly!
A stonking 1:32.547 jumps him up to eighth, a tenth of a second quicker than his more experienced team-mate Carlos Sainz.
Superb effort.

It looked to me like they were preparing to go out but then all of a sudden they pulled out.
It's too late, he won't go out!

It was here in Malaysia where Hamilton's Championship started to get away from him.
This could, in the next three minutes, be the most pivotal moment of the Championship so far!
Sebastian Vettel is back in the cockpit. It looks like he is ready to go.
Or is he!?
They were preparing to remove the tyres covers but look to have abandoned that now.

Jeremiah Kariuki: The engine problem on Vettel's car after listening at it again sounds worse! Will need another speedy mechanical work to get him out!
Reece Young: Don't reckon we will see Vettel again today. Sounded like a big issue.

None of them are actually working on the power unit. They haven't identified what the problem is what suggests they are still trying to identify what the issue is.
At the moment, with this session rapidly moving through, Sebastian Vettel is going no where fast.
A number of Ferrari engineers are looking at the power unit but not working on it. Struggling to get to the bottom of the issue?

The reality is Vettel has a huge amount of pressure on him and his team to get this working in time.
If that doesn't happen, it is a huge blow.

Frantic, frantic action down at Ferrari. Is this going to be a second open goal that aludes them in two weeks?
It's all about getting it out. They need it out of the garage and working in the next six minutes.
