We haven't mentioned Fernando Alonso for a while, and he is seventh quickest so far after a hydraulic leak ruined session one for him. His McLaren team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne is 13th quickest.
He's back. After spinning earlier on and ending up on the gravel, Sebastian Vettel is back on the track and he instantly goes third fastest, behind leader Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Halfway through the session and this is how we stand.

Simon Francis: First F1 Race of Champions Brands Hatch 1967 wandering round the paddock no hospitality or security then. Also Dan Gurney with a hacksaw cutting 3” off exhaust of his Eagle to time it and the glorious sound of Ferrari V12 spaghetti exhaust.
The ultra-softs, which are normally purple, have been transformed pink for this race as Formula 1 highlights Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Force India team are extremely excited by this news as you can see in this tweet. Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon are currently ninth and 10th quickest respectively.

Jennifer Harris: Re: school trip (see 20:25 BST). School to circuit 2 1/2 hours. That's just a teacher getting a free GP w/e by taking students on an educational trip.
I think a few teachers might be trying this one next July.
As it works for Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton now gets his turn with the pink boots on (the ultra-softs).
And he instantly goes nearly a second faster than Bottas to take the lead.

Valtteri Bottas has opted for the ultra-softs and it is a wise decision. His time of 1:35.596 is now the benchmark for everyone else. It is half a second better than previous leader Daniel Ricciardo's best effort.

Mike Heal: Most memorable debut, enjoyed Kevin Magnussen in 2014 for McLaren, the podium that never was.
It has been a good session so far for the two Red Bulls. Verstappen and Ricciardo have been swapping the lead, and now it is the Australian who is the quickest again. The Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas are third and fifth, with Kimi Raikkonen the man in the middle.
