Williams looking very strong, Felipe Massa continuing where he left off.
It's a good marker from Fernando Alonso after what had looked like a tough practice this morning - obviously some good work in that four-hour break to figure out how to get the car working properly.

Alex Withington: I feel like I say this every other weekend... simply a superb lap from @alo_oficial, external
He is seventh and surely safely into Q2.

Romain Grosjean has had to take some serious evasive action!
It was Lance Stroll, who sort of tried to get out of the way, but Grosjean was already trying to go around him.
Four minutes to go and the men in danger are Pascal Wehrlein, Romain Grosjean, Marcus Ericsson, newcomer Brendon Hartley and Kevin Magnussen. So both Haas cars, both Saubers and a Toro Rosso are currently in the bottom five.

Daniel Ricciardo has run wide coming out of the turn on his flying lap. It's a very disjointed qualifying so far.
Kevin Magnussen is being investigated for getting in the way of Sergio Perez.
"What is Magnussen doing, he is always the same," screams a very unhappy Perez.
Fernando Alonso may already have done enough to move into Q2. He is seventh fastest at the moment. Lewis Hamilton, unsurprisingly, moves quickest.
Romain Grosjean has to take evasive action on to the grass as Lance Stroll gets in the way to ruin Grosjean's flying lap.

Lewis Hamilton will have to do another run, he lost a big chunk of time in the middle sector.
Hamilton seventh fastest so far, with eight and a half minutes left in Q1.

Lewis made sure he opened up a nice gap so he had a good run and we'll start to see some good times coming in shortly.
A fine lap from Esteban Ocon could see him into Q2. He is behind Valtteri Bottas, but ahead of Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton.

Phil Slocombe: Gone for Lewis, Valtteri, Max in quali. Lewis, Valtteri, Daniel on podium.
And now it is time for Lewis Hamilton on the track. Fastest in three sessions, holder of the track record. A perfect weekend so far.
Sauber's Pascal Wehrlein is fastest so far. OK, only three cars have completed a lap, but we have not been able to ever say that much before.

The two Toro Rossos and the two Saubers are the first four cars out on track.

Jeremiah Kariuki: Time for #Quali, external! Ferrari may be the good car, but Hamilton may be the better driver! He tries to get it right, when it matters.
And here we go. Seventeen more minutes to move into Q2.
