Power problem for Hamiltonpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 28 October 2017
"We have some power issues," says Lewis Hamilton. Maybe this weekend is not going to be the formality for Hamilton to become world champion that we were all expecting.

"We have some power issues," says Lewis Hamilton. Maybe this weekend is not going to be the formality for Hamilton to become world champion that we were all expecting.
Another change at the top. This time the Red Bull of Max Verstappen takes the track record. His time is 1:17.223, slightly quicker than Vettel's best of 1:17.230.
We were saying it was a bad day for Ferrari. Not any more.
Sebastian Vetten has just broken Valtteri Bottas' track record with a time of 1:17.230. Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen has jumped to third fastest to move Lewis Hamilton down to fourth.
A good day so far for... Renault. Carlos Sainz is fifth and Nico Hulkenberg is seventh.
A bad day so far for... Haas. Kevin Magnussen is 14th and Romain Grosjean is 15th.
For the world title race to go on for another race we need Sebastian Vettel to win tomorrow and Lewis Hamilton to finish outside the top five.
It has not been the best of days for Ferrari so far with Vettel fifth fastest and Kimi Raikkonen down in 10th. The Mercedes, remember, are first and second with Bottas leading the way.

Jeremiah Kariuki: That's a new lap record by Bottas! He seems to be enjoying the #MexicoGP, external track. Should keep going that way and get the pole.

In theory this should be a good weekend for McLaren. They have strong downforce and it's an agile car and with the changes in direction that will help.
If they can get track position in qualifying, once they're there they can stay there quite easily.
Note: McLaren will be due grid penalties for engine changes, with a 20-place penalty for Fernando Alonso and 35-place penalty for Stoffel Vandoorne.
Valtteri Bottas is driving like a man who has a point to prove. He has broken his own track record set moments ago with a lap of 1:17.537. Four tenths of a second quicker than Lewis Hamilton.
"What was the problem with the tyres? Max Verstappen, on the super-softs, is asked.
"They don't work," is the very blunt response. He is third at the moment.

You can have unlimited running on ultra softs here in the race - possibly 35 laps so a one-stop race. Mercedes have brought more ultras than the other teams here which suggests why they are running on those in practice.
No messing about from Valtteri Bottas, who has just set a new track record of 1:17.681, and it is a Mercedes one-two at the moment with Lewis Hamilton in second.
It's not just the Mercedes cars that are dancing along. In very quick time Sergio Perez in his Force India and Carlos Sainz in his Renault both overshoot a corner and end up heading for a country drive over the grass.

Mercedes are using ultra soft tyres because they have significantly more of them - more than Red Bull.
Lewis Hamilton's car looks like it's dancing below him.
Well, Sergio Perez was leading, but he is now down to fourth as the big guns get up to pace. Valtteri Bottas leads, Lewis Hamilton is second and Max Verstappen is third.
This guy has popped up in the Red Bull garage this weekend - and he's kind of a big deal in Mexico.
Mistico is one of the most famous professional wrestlers in Mexico and is a massive box office draw in the country.
Lucha libre wrestling is huge in Mexico - it's a style of wrestling with flips and high-flying moves. That's why you'll see so many masks in the crowd.
If you're a WWE fan, you will have seen Mistico during his spell as the character Sin Cara ("without face" in Spanish) between 2011 and 2014.
Can his luchador magic rub off on Max Verstappen and Sebstian Vettel?
Something for the Mexican fans to cheer as Sergio Perez is fastest so far.
Pierre Gasly has only managed 10 laps this weekend. Last weekend he travelled all the way to Japan to take part in a Super Formula race. It was cancelled because of bad weather.
Fair to say he's not having too much luck at the moment. Daniil Kvyat, set to be dropped by Toro Rosso, could well be chuckling along from afar.

And here is a quick reminder of how we stand in the drivers' championship.
Lewis Hamilton only needs to finish fifth tomorrow to celebrate his fourth world title.

Three-time world champion and Mercedes non-executive chairman Niki Lauda has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 live sports extra about Lewis Hamilton's mindset today.
"There's no pressure on him," says Lauda. He's happy. He'll work hard to get pole. It's like a another race.
"I'm confident of pole - the only worry I have is there's only one tenth in it."
