And Ericsson then jumps over Fernando Alonso, who has work to do to keep his qualifying going.
Brendon Hartley, with a wing problem, and the two Williams and the two Saubers occupy the dreaded bottom five spots at the moment.
Daniel Ricciardo in sixth. The big three teams will all be having both men through safely into Q2.
"We are too slow [on the slow lap]," says Romain Grosjean as he locks up and goes wide. He means the warm-up lap, so his tyres were too cold.
Ferrari one and two, Mercedes third and fifth, with Max Verstappen ahead of Lewis Hamilton in fourth. No problems from those five.
Valtteri Bottas is third, three tenths behind Raikkonen. Ferrari are looking strong this weekend.
Kimi Raikkonen is more than a second quicker than Kevin Magnussen. Job done so far for the Finn, who was the fastest man in the last two practice sessions.
Sebastian Vettel is second fastest one tenth behind Raikkonen and they will both be moving on into Q2 without any dramas.
Kevin Magnussen sets the best time so far with a 1:30.030 in his Haas and that may be enough to avoid the first cut off.
"We have a damaged front wing," says Brendon Hartley.
Only two men have set times so far. Fourteen minutes left.

Rod Peel: Given that there is a window of 18 minutes for Q1 - seriously how much do teams expect the track temperature to drop?
Damage-limitation for Lewis Hamilton. He still has time to wave to his fans before climbing into his Mercedes.
Mill Felt: What amazes me is the position Toro Rosso is taking in all 3 FPs. I am looking out for qualy.
And qualifying starts. Eighteen minutes for Q1, remember the bottom five drivers fail to make it into Q2.

A few minutes to go, and the McLaren mechanics are still working on Stoffel Vandoorne's car. The man himself sits in his car seat watching on a bit anxiously.

The two that look like they are in trouble are the Williams'. They are very inexperienced and will do well to get into Q2.

Grid penalties - are they a fair punishment?
Nick, just Nick: How can Mercedes have more grid penalties this season than in all of last year and it's race two. Utterly ludicrous and I would say that about any team. There has to be a better way of penalising teams for technical infringements? Constructors point deductions?
Remember, it is a five-place grid penalty for Lewis Hamilton after breaching rules over gearbox changes.
Governing body the FIA's rules state drivers cannot change gearboxes within a six-race period. The defending champion needs a new gearbox for Bahrain after problems in the opening race, his team said.
"We had an hydraulic leak in the Melbourne race and were fortunate to finish the race," Mercedes said.
It is approaching 6pm in Bahrain and the track temperature has dropped 10C from earlier on today, but it is still very hot out there (as you would expect).
