    Your thoughts on grid girls

Kayleigh‍: Preparing myself to start WW3. I honestly could not care less about grid girls/no grid girls. If the girls are there because they want to, let them be there. Just be consistent! They can’t be at some races and not the others. People should just stop moaning.

  2. Alonso to carry on good start to the season?published at 15:50 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

It was a fifth-placed finish for Fernando Alonso last time around, a better finish than any he achieved in 2017.

Earlier this week Alonso warned McLaren to "not get complacent", so can he and they get themselves into a good spot for tomorrow?

  3. Team Renaultpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

Both Renault men finished in the top 10 in Australia in the first race of the season. Can they get themselves in the position for more points this weekend?

  4. A third pole for Vettel?published at 15:44 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

Who takes pole position in Bahrain?

Well Sebastian Vettel has done so twice and Valtteri Bottas has once. Lewis Hamilton has done so twice as well, but because of a dodgy gearbox and a subsequent five-place grid penalty he will start on the third row (at best).

Kristine Kirby: For the first time EVER I am not going to watch qualifying. What is the point? Grid penalties will change quali grid, penalty for issue that would have made the track unsafe, driver gets the penalty, no passing is possible, & F1 is getting worse under Liberty, not better.

Harrison Fretwell-Bates: If Raikkonen was running in high engine mode during practice, then he’s wearing the engine more quickly, risking retirement from the race or qualifying.

Heartwoodturning‏: I would love to see Kimi take pole. That would be awesome

    Your thoughts on grid girls

Flintlock: Grid girls send a message that men are there to do serious work and women are there to look nice. In modern Formula 1 that couldn’t be further from the truth; there are lots of women employed by the teams, including a Team Principal. Would be regressive to bring them back.

LisaMoran‏:Kids watching F1 should see women they can aspire to be-valued for their ability not fleeting youth/beauty. Grid kids way better.

  10. 'One of the more difficult weekends'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff tells Sky Sports: "We don't look Jesus-like today and with the grid penalty we are doing everything we can to make (the show) spectacular.

"Let's see if the temperatures when it is cooling down makes it better for us, but certainly it is one of the more difficult weekends. We want to have a clean session and see where that ends up."

On Lewis Hamilton's five-place grid penalty, Wolff adds: "This is motor racing, these things happen and sometimes things go wrong."

Rivlud‏: I think Ferrari have a much faster car than last year on the straights, I do expect a much better race car over the course of the season, improvements may make it even better and that gap could be overturned with Mercedes!

Kayleigh‍: Quali day is my favourite day of the F1 weekend! Kimi on pole would be wonderful. Both McLarens into Q3 too please.

Send us your thoughts using the hashtag #bbcf1. We are also talking about whether grid girls have a place in Formula 1 and whether Lewis Hamilton's five-place grid penalty for a gearbox issue is fair?
