Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo edged Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen in second practice at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Ricciardo, superb winner of the last race in China, was just 0.069 seconds clear of Raikkonen as championship leader Sebastian Vettel struggled.

Vettel was 11th, 1.3secs off the pace, and struggling for grip as he suffered lock-ups and off-track moments.

Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton were fourth and fifth, behind the second Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Bottas was 0.775secs off the pace as Mercedes, like Vettel, appeared to be suffering on the tricky Baku street track and its low-grip, low-abrasion surface.

Race winner in China and the fastest in practice session two for Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.

A miserable day for Sebastian Vettel. He was 10th quickest in session one, and 11th fastest in session two.

Kimi Raikkonen was second quickest, with Max Verstappen third after smashing into a wall earlier in the day.

Valtteri Bottas (fourth) and Lewis Hamilton (fifth) were next in line.

Your thoughts on Verstappen and Ricciardo

Oli Jones: Max no worse than Hamilton in 2008 who drove into back of Alonso and then a stationary Raikkonen. Plus hit barrier in Monaco. And still world champion that year. Long way to go

Matthew Jackson: Verstappen the most naturally gifted, Ricciardo the more well-rounded. Max for a spectacular win in the wet, Dan for a championship!

Who is the better driver - Verstappen or Ricciardo?

Joseph Tolman-Lopez: Verstappen won his first race at Red Bull. Youngest race winner. Future champion. But now he's making a meal of every opportunity he has! Ricciardo is a more reliable driver right now but probably won't go down in history the same way Max will

Daniel: Ricciardo is the better team driver, maximises the car on the bad days and capitalises when circumstances favour him. Verstappen needs to learn to look beyond that moment without losing the instincts that make him dynamic.
