Grosjean is set to start fifth at the moment. His only points haul this season came with the 12 he picked up all in one go when he came fourth in Austria two races ago, but he will be confident of more success this weekend.

Kimi Raikkonen storms down a 1:11.880 to start us off, but goes wide on turn 12 and that proves costly. Sebastian Vettel instantly goes faster with 1:11.539, while Valtteri Bottas' first lap is only good for second with a 1:11.709.

Hamilton to start 14th after a hydraulic problem

Jeremiah Kariuki: There is still tomorrow for Hamilton. He can still do more damage limitations. That's what Mercedes has been doing with him in the last few races.

Rachel T: Cannot blame Lewis Hamilton for that reaction. He knows this has handed Vettel the race and a massive lead in the championship.

RantingMrP: Good to see Lewis Hamilton hungry and trying to get the car back to the pits. Starts from 14th, overtaking masterclass on the cards then!

The JV-Tossh‏: In the midst of the Hamilton situation, let's just say "Well done Sergey" for finally getting that Williams into Q2.

Josh Earl‏: Another disaster for Lewis, gonna need something special tomorrow. Not sure what frame of mind he's in. Sad scenes.
