Daniel Ricciardo has been talking to BBC Radio 5 live. He says of his grid penalties: "We knew it was probably going to happen this we so I could mentally prepare.

"It looks like Lewis will be at the back so we will both be charging. If there is not much happening at the front, there will be at the back. Knowing I have a few overtakes makes me smile cheekily."

    I can't believe they've red-flagged a session for that I have to say. It's a mid-speed corner, cambered, well off line.

    It's surprising.

We have a red flag at the moment because of the gravel dumped on to the track when Marcus Ericsson got back on to it. We will get going again when the stones are removed and will have a final seven minutes left.

No Hamilton, no Ricciardo, this is a great chance for one of the lesser teams to get someone into Q3 and a starting spot inside the top 10.

Problems for Marcus Ericsson, who is in the gravel after spinning. Luckily he is able to get back into the action, but it is straight back into the pits for him. They have eight minutes to get him back out there and get a time sorted out.

What a boost this has been for Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari.

Hamilton got himself from 18th to second after an opening lap spin after colliding with Kimi Raikkonen at the British Grand Prix and will need to weave his way through the field again tomorrow.

That also means that two of the five to drop out in Q2 are going to be Lewis Hamilton and Daniel Ricciardo. Sergey Sirotkin, without a point all season, will be starting no worse than 13th, unless he prangs it in Q2.

So, just to clarify. Hamilton had already produced a good enough lap to make it into Q2. Daniel Ricciardo also made it to Q2, but engine penalties mean he will start right at the back, meaning Hamilton will have to start in 14th in the race tomorrow.

Cheers from the home fans as Sebastian Vettel's title rival Lewis Hamilton has problems. Qualifying over for Hamilton. He will be starting 14th tomorrow.

He is crouching down on his car, shaking his head, acting like his season has just come crashing down around him. Disaster for the Briton as a hydraulic issue has ruined his qualifying.
