  1. 'We are free to fight'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

Valtteri Bottas, who will start second, says: "Crossing the line being on pole then obviously Lewis had a better lap.

"It was very crucial, he was quicker on that lap, as a team for us one-two, it could've been worse. We are free to fight so I'm looking forward to it."

  2. 'We're going to do our best as a team and keep the red guys behind us'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

Lewis Hamilton speaking to Sky Sports: "It's great for the team to have a one-two. We couldn't have expected this. Ferrari have been quickest all weekend and we were doing our best to catch up, but then the heavens opened and it was fair game.

"It's so tricky out there, at the beginning it was dry and then it got wetter so it was hard to say how much grip we had.

"When it was dryer it was a bit like doing ballet and tiptoeing trying to find a line. It was give and take all the way around. We've got a great position so we're going to do our best as a team and keep the red guys behind us."

Mercedes front-row lock-out in Budapest. Hamilton is punching the air with his fists.

It's a bit about the car, but it's more about the driver. That is why Hamilton is a four-time world champion and why he earns £40m a year.

What an effort from Carlos Sainz, who will start fifth. Pierre Gasly is sixth.

Red Bull had enjoyed three good practice sessions in the dry, but the weather has not been kind to them. Verstappen will start seventh and Daniel Ricciardo 12th.

Hamilton is phenomenal in wet conditions. The track is wet. When the cars drive around they clear a huge amount of water especially on the full wet tyres which are made to just disperse water and give the drivers some sort of grip to prevent aquaplaning.

  18. 'It sucks'published at 14:55 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

Daniel Ricciardo, who will start 12th tomorrow, tells BBC Radio 5 live: "We just scraped through in Q1 but we had to use a soft tyre so that explained it and it was also cold, but we were aware of that.

"Starting Q2 the rain was coming, so whoever was first on track was getting the best lap. Lance Stroll was in front of me when he spun so I had a yellow flag, and then it just got wetter and wetter. It sucks."

When asked on how he will race tomorrow: "I'll find a way. It will be difficult but I'll find a way, we are out of position in 12th there. I'm not thinking about tomorrow yet, it just seems unlucky there, but it's all good."
