Eighteen minutes of Q1 is under way. There are huge queues in the pits, with everyone wanting to get out, get a lap on the board before the really heavy rain comes. There are rumbles of thunder around the track too.

    Tyre choices - green intermediates.

Remember, the bottom five after 18 minutes are eliminated.

Keith Murphy: Vettel looked a cert for pole. This rain could really help Mercedes.

  10. Postpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 28 July 2018

Sebastian Vettel had the best of practice, being second fastest in the first session and then quickest in both sessions two and three.

He would have been hoping it would have stayed dry. But the rain may well throw the race for pole wide open.

This is the scenario in the drivers' championship. Seventeen points is the gap between the top two.

If Raikkonen or even Bottas are to have any chance of stopping it being a two-horse race then they need to pick up a win and do so soon.

Your reaction to Force India going into administration

Simon Baker‏: The unfortunate circumstance that has befallen Force India is symptomatic of F1 authorities being unwilling to ensure the long term survival of the sport. The fewer teams there are on the grid, the less value there is in the sport. Utter failure.

Mark Bottomley: Don’t let F1 become an elite sport! Who wants to watch two or three teams race around a track? Come on F1 help the lower teams.
