Kieren Thomson: I've been expecting this day for a few years now. Lando is a perfect fit for McLaren: young, quick, accomplished and fearless. Vandoorne hasn't lived up to his GP2 profile, and doesn't look like a champion. Lando does. It's time for Stoffel to move on.

  15. What tyres have we got this weekend?published at 11:20 British Summer Time 24 August 2018

We have the mediums (white), soft (yellow), and supersoft (red).

Spa can be an unpredictable race. Tyre strategies will be interesting, particularly if it rains. Which means drama, and we like drama.

    Your favourite Alonso moment

Bob McFeil: My most memorable Alonso memory has to be the deckchair scene in Brazil. Sad sight but shows he does have a great fun side!

SpursGotLevyd: Favourite Alonso moment? Easily during qualifying at McLaren in his first stint he sat longer than he should in the pit to try to stop Hamilton (who was getting preferential treatment) get a final lap in. #YesFernando, external

Kirk Whent: My favourite Alonso moment was the battle with Schumacher at imola in 2005. Brilliant driving to hold off the Ferrari.

  20. Where next for Ocon?published at 11:04 British Summer Time 24 August 2018

    Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 live

Esteban Ocon is one of the best drivers outside of the top teams. He was in the mix for a Mercedes seat and then a Renault seat, but then Daniel Ricciardo became available for them.

Amid all of that his current team is being bought out and he may have nowhere to go. It is tough to read what is going on because of the new owners. He is still in a good seat at the moment and has done a good job. He is a quick driver, and on Mercedes' books.
