A few words from Lando Norris... "It's my first wet F1 race I haven't really driven this car in the wet, I'm not the most confident but I'm looking forward to see what we can do."

Williams deputy team principal, Claire Williams is with Jennie Gow on the grid. She says: "I suppose in a sense [the rain] could cause a bit of carnage and a lottery and we could capitalise on that - it's an opportunity for us.
"It's going to be tough for everyone this weekend it has been so hot and we don't know how the tyres operate in the wet, so its going to be tricky and it could be anyone's afternoon.
"George [Russell] is good in the wet, he's had a lot of experience doing it."

Waterproof jacket with hood up was in order for the drivers' parade.

Lando Norris has had a terrific start to his debut Formula 1 season with McLaren, but Saturday at Hockenheim was not his best day. He was knocked out in first qualifying for the first time this year, missing the cut by just 0.055secs. He said he felt that time was in the car - “I just didn’t get the lap together” - but team boss Andreas Seidl said that he had a battery problem that cost him 0.1secs, so would otherwise have made it.
Team-mate Carlos Sainz is seventh, just slower than Kimi Raikkonen’s Alfa and Romain Grosjean’s Haas in a very close midfield fight, but Norris will start from the back after the team fitted a new battery, energy store and MGU-K. The battery was needed because of the failure in qualifying; the other two parts have been taken to stock up because he is at the back.

"There's way too much water for the inters," Leclerc now says.
"Aquaplaning." He just ran wide at the hairpin.

It's going to be slippy out there. We may well be seeing some more ballet-style pirouette moves, just like this one from Charles Leclerc in his Sauber last year.

Christian Horner, is stood on the grid next to Max Verstappen's Red Bull, and Jennie Gow pays him a visit.
Horner says: "We've still got to pick the right tyre for the start of the race and the rain is the best leveler here so hopefully we're still going to have a great race this afternoon.
"You've got to think on your toes in conditions like this - we know the extreme tyre doesn't last very long and it overheats quickly. But the intermediate doesn't cope with the water very well when there's a lot of standing water... that's what the drivers and engineers will be discussing at the moment."
These are the last 10 winners of the German Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton set a record for most wins at the British Grand Prix last time out and he will set another record if he wins today. He currently has four German GP wins, the same amount as Michael Schumacher.
Great performances in the wet
Ritch: Settling down to watch the race in Crete. A cold beer, 34°c and F1. What could be better? Come on Lewis!
Sulaimon Adelekan: No matter what Lewis Hamilton is always the favourite, I am expecting the home boy to give him a run for his money but it will be very difficult especially on the wet surface.
Mick Pullin: Best wet weather performance? Gilles Villeneuve 1979 first practice at Watkins Glen; Villeneuve fastest by 9 seconds! Nothing before or since has come close.
This is how it stands in the constructors' championship. Racing Point down in seventh, but not much in it between fifth and ninth.

It has been a difficult season so far for Racing Point, but their big upgrade package for this race has delivered big time. They are the closest they have been to pole in percentage terms all year, with the exception of the one-off of Baku, where they have always been strong. And perhaps most remarkably of all, team-mate Lance Stroll made it out of Q1 for the first time since Austin last year - breaking what was becoming an embarrassing run of 14 races. Perez starts eighth and Stroll 15th, and the Mexican was talking up the team’s prospects for the race following the introduction of their revised side pods and radiators this weekend.
“We’re in a good place for the race,” he said. “The people ahead of us should be worried, because we should have a good pace, no matter the conditions. Pretty much everywhere we’ve done a good step forward. I think still we need a little one, but we’re talking about very little things, circuit related – mainly in the medium speed we’ve done a good step.”
Mark Webber collected the first race win of his career in Germany (at Nurburgring) in 2009. He was just a little bit happy about it.

Greatest wet weather drives?
Jonathan Chitty: greatest wet weather drives. Hamilton, Britain 2008, Vettel, Monza 2008 not forgetting Button, Canada 2011. All supreme!
This is our track today. Watch out for turn 17, the last corner of the track, as many drivers have gone over track limits this weekend. Do that again and you may be collecting a time penalty.
Could Sebastian Vettel celebrate a victory in the rain at Hockenheim today? Just the 19 cars he has to get ahead of.
Looking into the race archives, the German driver does have a couple of wet victories under his belt to draw experience from.
Travel back to 2009 and at a rain-hit Chinese Grand Prix, Vettel produced a superb drive to give Red Bull their first ever race victory.
A year earlier at Monza in 2008, a baby-faced Vettel took his and the Toro Rosso team's maiden win in a thrilling Italian Grand Prix in wet conditions.
