    The photographers did pretty well to get Daniil Kvyat out on the track in FP1 before his engine seized - the Russian only managed five laps.

    It looks like he will get a second bite of the cherry in FP2, though.

    Jonathan W: I can see the court papers from Lemsip going into the post already @JolyonPalmer Very interesting insight with regards to F1, what about such things as paracetamol/ibuprofen presumably you wouldn't be able to take those if you had a headache/migraine etc?

    On the subject of doping in F1...

    I did a piece on doping and how various drugs could help F1 performances and doctors told me it could be saline infusions for pre and post-race hydration, plasma regulation, certain stimulants for alertness and reaction time, and steroids and cortisone could be helpful in accelerating muscle and bone repair.

    Steroids can also promote aggression and fearlessness which can improve performance too.

    I never took a Lemsip when I was a driver in Formula 1 because there is something in it that triggers anti-doping.

    You wouldn't normally think twice about having a Lemsip, but there are a few things that we have in everyday life that would come up in a drugs test.

    Turns out the stimulant ephedrine, which is on the banned substance list, is an active ingredient in Lemsip...
