Interesting vote running on Lewis Hamilton's Instagram stories at the moment.

72% of his followers - and Hamilton himself - think Friday practice should be scrapped in favour of just a Saturday and Sunday race weekend.

  20. It could've gone better - Hamiltonpublished at 04:48 British Summer Time 13 October 2019

    Andrew Benson
BBC Sport’s chief F1 writer at Suzuka

Lewis Hamilton did not sound too confident after qualifying about being able to fight his way through to a win from fourth on the grid. “Ferrari have a faster car,” he said. “We have a solid car. Hopefully we will be able to give them a run for their money but they are very quick on the straights.”

Hamilton was just 0.009 seconds slower than Valtteri Bottas, and did not sound especially thrilled about his qualifying performance either. “It could have gone better,” he said. “But it’s a beautiful day, everyone’s safe and hopefully we’ll have a good race.” Qualifying, he said, was “not spectacular. The car was fine. They turn up and go to another level which we cannot compete with power-wise. Q2 first run was really solid, the second run not too great and then the next two were so-so.”
