There are some very dark, black clouds over the circuit. I am getting reports there are a few drops of rain now falling.

Carlos Sainz is fifth, he started 15th. Charles Leclerc is third, he started 14th. They're the big climbers today. Well played lads, well played.

It has been a race of mistakes from the Red Bulls. Today they got an awful start and both had spins - Verstappen has had two - and they are fighting for sixth and seventh.

How about some last-minute rain to absolutely cause chaos? Maybe.

Hamilton: "All I want to know if there is no concern of these tyres blowing up, right?"

Engineer: "None at the moment, Lewis"

  8. Postpublished at Lap 53/58

One of Hamilton's tyres blew on the last lap at Silverstone earlier this year, with him then securing one of the most amazing wins of his career, limping over the line with only three inflated tyres. He's worried of it happening again...

Hamilton closing in on seventh title

Vicki Johnson: Okay; here's a corny ending scenario. Vettel finishes in top three so Lewis and Seb share the moment.

Mark: Fair play hell of a show by Lewis Hamilton true world champion!!

John Crowson: Teammate spinning round and round, drivers off everywhere, Hamilton (with the odd wobble) leaping clear having qualified a little way back. Sounds like Britain 2008 again to me!

The two Red Bulls are battling for sixth, but Verstappen spins to let Albon move a few seconds clear.

Perez is flying again in this late phase. He is upping his pace. The top two are looking good.

Lance Stroll is going to be furious that he was pitted. That's ruined his race, while his team-mate Sergio Perez, who has stopped one time less than Stroll, is second and on course for a podium place.

    Hamilton leading Turkish Grand Prix

Dom: A Hamilton win today will cement his status as the greatest. Thats not cos I'm a fan; I think its an unavoidable undeniable fact. And has done it all without controversy and shoving others off the track. Respect.

Greg Coles: Can we all agree that Hamilton is the GOAT.

Hirsty Official: Remember when everyone said Hamilton couldn't look after his tyres!

The wait for George Russell's first ever F1 point looks like going on. He's down in 16th. Lando Norris is on course for two points in ninth.

Hamilton has just done such a good job. He has been quick where it counts and had one window where it opened up for him. Lewis Hamilton doesn't need an invitation.

To drive away 20 seconds in front he is getting it right.

Hamilton leads from Perez and Leclerc

Daniel Woodley: This is quite simply a drive of a champion. It's not all about the car. It's about the driver. And Valtteri Bottas is proving it today.

Yass: Feeling for Lance. Bottas for Russell, who says no.

Babtunde: I don't like comparing Lewis with other drivers. To be honest, Lewis driving is a masterclass, and he deserves to be a champion.

Josh Earl: Bottas has had an absolutely torrid day. Getting lapped by your teammate on the day he seals the world championship.

We still have some heavy, dark clouds looming over the circuit. This one is not ready to be put in the books just yet.

  19. Postpublished at Lap 48/58

Bottas into the pits and another set of inters. Not even worth a slicks gamble. Too soon, too wet.

  20. Team radio - Verstappenpublished at 11:37 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2020

"Max, what are your thoughts on conditions?"

"It is not ready for slicks."
