The floodlights are taking full effect now as darkness falls in Abu Dhabi. The lights are glinting off Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes as he gets into full flow again.

Lewis Hamilton may have snatched top spot from his team-mate right at the end there but he did have to use an extra set of tyres compared to Valtteri Bottas.
Will that harm him in Q3? Maybe.

That's one of those cringey spins for Latifi.
There was a spin right at the end there for Nicholas Latifi. He is outqualified by George Russell once again.
Charles Leclerc snuck in there with the third fastest time. 0.353 back from Hamilton. Impressive once again from the Ferrari driver.
"Sorry guys the tyres were nowhere. I really, really struggled."
The drivers eliminated in Q1 are:
16. Raikkonen
17. Magnussen
18. Russell
19. Fittipaldi
20. Latifi.
Vettel saves himself by going 11th quickest but Kimi Raikkonen is out. He is outdone by his team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi.
Lewis Hamilton, on those fresh tyres, goes top with his last lap of the session.
Daniil Kvyat jumps well clear of danger and into fifth.

Hamilton's had to take a new set of soft tyres, Bottas is on used ones.
Unsurprisingly George Russell is a lot slower in his Williams than last week in the Mercedes. He can only manage 16th as the chequered flag waves.
Hamilton is now on an out lap. He's currently eighth.

Cactus Jack: There's been worse stand ins then Fittipaldi. He hasn't really fluffed his two races. Maybe teams will look at him differently now. Instead of looking at his questionable career so far
As it stands Daniil Kvyat, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen are those immediately above the elimination zone.
Two-and-a-bit minutes remaining in the session as the cars head back out.
Max Verstappen does indeed go for another flying lap. He jumps out of danger and into second, 0.294 seconds behind Bottas.

Hamilton not looking comfortable either. He's only two tenths ahead of Verstappen. Might he have to go again?
16. Magnussen
17. Fittipaldi
18. Russell
19, Latifi
