There is no doubt this a better drive from Albon. Whether he has done enough over the course of the year I really don't think.

Alexander Albon has been told to chase down Lewis Hamilton. Not much time to get him for what would be third.

They have lots of money in Abu Dhabi. How have they made this track so poor? I just want to scream.

It has been a tough day for Formula1 commentators.

It has not been a vintage way to go out. It is a shame because we have had some absolutely cracking races this season.

Five laps to go of the race, of the season, of potentially the F1 careers of Magnussen, Albon and Kvyat.

A couple of drivers - Magnussen and Fittipaldi - have some new tyres on to go out fast.

Red Bull not needing to run a second car; similarly Mercedes would have won the WCC just on Hamilton’s points!

Abu Dhabi is like the final day of the Tour de France. Where's the champagne ¿ in the last few laps.

F1's real winners - Russell, Perez, BBC's radio commentary team. F1's real losers - Ferrari, Bottas/Albon(equally rubbish).

With seven laps of a race to go, leader Max Verstappen has just asked if he should turn the engine down. Red Bull say that is not needed at the moment. Verstappen's lead is 11 seconds. This one, as it has looked for a long, long time, looks all over.

Barring the tyres falling apart, it's all about whether McLaren can finish third in the constructors' title so they will be very much hoping that Norris and Sainz stay fifth and sixth and hold off a late charge from Ricciardo.

Lando Norris has just been on the radio to the team. They reckon Ricciardo could catch him.

Chris Lord: Verstappen on for his first grand slam, pole position, fastest lap, win and led every lap! Just hope the power unit holds up!

Ogba2: They ask Bottas to give it all he got and he falls a further 2secs back.

We are in race 17 of 17. The season was meant to start in March in Australia, but because of the coronavirus pandemic all plans were changed with Austria in July the host of the opener.

In an incredible organisational achievement, F1 have managed to get to 12 different countries and we have 10 laps of the season to go.

Everyone connected with F1 should be hugely proud that we've had any kind of season at all.

Kayleigh: If Merc pull out some shenanigans and VB loses P2 in the championship, they’ll have proved to everyone that they definitely 10000% favour one driver.

Stu Wilson: The last race of the season should be a demolition derby. That might liven things up.

FT411: Remember when people complained that a 15-point deduction wasn't a proper penalty for Racing Point over brake ducts? Looks like it'll cost them a pretty penny after all...

Abu Dhabi has never provided a good grand prix. The track is not as good as others that have provided some classics. It was interesting this year to go to new venues.

There are some venues on the calendar that you turn up to and don't expect to be surprised.

The strategy has not helped this.
