Charles Leclerc stays on the mediums and that's a bold call from Ferrari, one which may come back to haunt them. Softs for the other 14.

Charles Leclerc stays on the mediums and that's a bold call from Ferrari, one which may come back to haunt them. Softs for the other 14.
It's Hamilton nearly five tenths clear of Bottas. Everyone else will be looking over their shoulders.
"You have to get it right. Which one is pushing, which is not. It's so difficult to see. We have enough people that we can figure out what is happening."
Looks like Kimi is having trouble trying to find out which drivers are on an out lap and which drivers are pushing.
At the moment, George Russell is just 0.049 seconds away from Fernando Alonso in 10th. Can 'Mr Saturday' get himself into Q3?

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are going to have to improve. If the rest of the midfielders find a bit of time, certainly Perez, could find himself in a bit of trouble here.
Red Bull were quick in practice but they struggled a bit in Q1. Perez is slightly improving but he's a long way adrift of Lewis Hamilton on the same compound of tyre.
Red Bull's pace has just evaporated all of a sudden. They are not looking quick.
Bottom five with seven minutes of Q2 left...
11. Russell (Williams), 12. Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri), 13. Sainz (Ferrari), 14. Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo), 15. Raikkonen (Alfa Romeo)
Carlos Sainz is only down in 13th on the mediums, so Ferrari will have to send him out on the softs just to get through.

Lando Norris matches Valtteri Bottas. - but Norris is on a soft tyre, remember.
Lewis Hamilton, looking for pole number 100 later on, is flying, with a superb 1:17.968 on the mediums, nearly half a second ahead of Valtteri Bottas.
Lando Norris third, Esteban Ocon fourth with 10 minutes of Q2 to go.
Max Verstappen leads the way, with the two Ferraris second and third. But we saw some dramatic track improvement in Q1 so that may well be the case in Q2 as well.
It's medium tyres for the Mercedes pair, both Ferraris, both Red Bulls, the Alfa Romeos and the Williams of George Russell.

I'm expecting both the Mercedes and both the Red Bulls out on the medium tyres - at least initially. Possibly the Ferraris as well. Alpine have been quick but it would be bold of them to go out on the mediums in this but we'll see the top four cars certainly, then we'll see what Ferrari do.
Time for the 15 minutes of Q2. If you make the top 10 then the tyres you set your fastest time on in this section are the tyres you begin the race on.

I think Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris are my drivers of the season so far.
Bit of a bold one... but from what I was expecting of them, I think they have been absolutely remarkable.

Hats off to Sebastian Vettel. He's really dug out a performance there in eighth place, ahead of his team-mate Lance Stroll by half a second.
That's more like the Sebastian Vettel we've been used to.
Daniel Ricciardo finished seventh in Bahrain in his first race for McLaren and followed that up by coming sixth at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in race two, but the Australian is going to have to work his magic to get into the points from a start tomorrow of 16th.

Lando Norris is second!
Something has happened to Daniel Ricciardo there. Surely more than just the driver not hooking it up.
Ricciardo out in Q1. A big shock.
