Lando Norris does the fastest first sector of anyone with McLaren switching to a soft tyre and finding a bit of pace.
This is going to shuffle the Alpines down.

First set of tyres for Sergio Perez. He's been going nicely and looked solid enough all weekend but he's made a mistake here - but has managed to get away with it. Bit of gravel rash to the underside of the car.
Alonso has had a spin, but he's currently lurking in sixth, with team-mate Esteban Ocon one place behind.
Bottom five, with six minutes to go...
Sergio Perez in and out of the gravel. Fortunately for him he doesn't get stuck.
No need for Mercedes fans to worry as Lewis Hamilton then gets himself to fifth and that will be him safely through into Q2. Seven minutes to go. Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris may need to improve.
Mercedes: "We've just had our lap deleted. So we need this next one. It's at Turn One."
Hamilton: "Understood."
Valtteri Bottas leads the way after his team worked hard to sort out a sensor issue 20 minutes before qualifying started. Sainz is sitting pretty in second and the two Red Bulls are third and fourth with Perez third.

Lewis Hamilton gets a time on the board and it's good for top, but not for long. Track limits breached and he's down in last. Nine minutes left for him to get a legal time and move through.

Carlos Sainz with a very good lap - four tenths quicker than Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc. He's hooked that up pretty well.
Sainz is ahead of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas right now - all on the soft tyre.
The two Aston Martins nearly smash, but luckily for Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll they avoid each other.
Carlos Sainz with a 1:19.480 on the softs and that is 0.008 ahead of Valtteri Bottas. Lewis Hamilton has been hampered on that lap but still 11 minutes left in the session, so no panic from Mercedes.
