With Charles Leclerc heading 10 places back, Carlos Sainz would take his buddy's front-row spot with a 1:34.947. Who would be alongside him? The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton, who has put in a fantastic lap to sit third.
Time on the board from the Alfa Romeo of Valtteri Bottas as the Finn hits a 1:36.747, but Bottas doesn't stay for long as Lando Norris, Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen all go quicker.
Charles Leclerc is on provisional pole with a 1:34.624.
A reminder that Charles Leclerc has that 10-place grid penalty, while Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso and Zhou Guanyu all have five places to drop.

Top five drivers in that session were Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Both Alpha Tauris are shown the door in Q2 and Pierre Gasly, not for the first time today, is on the team radio furious with his car's performance.

And he does! Norris is down to 11th and waves goodbye to the top-10 shootout.
The Williams of Alex Albon is the first danger man to lift himself out of the drop zone and up into eighth. That pushes Lando Norris, who was sitting in 10th, down into 11th spot.
