  11. A spinning Mick Schumacher is another driver eliminated. Daniel Ricciardo sounds so disappointed to be giving the boot at the circuit he loves the most.

  12. Zhou Guanyu is next up and the Alfa Romeo man vaults out of danger and pushes Daniel Ricciardo out of Q1. Esteban Ocon in the Alpine is also gone!

  13. Yuki Tsunoda pulls himself up to ninth and is out of the drop zone. Daniel Ricciardo also jumps up the field - but only to 14th place.

    Mercedes feel like this is a really strong opportunity for them this weekend, they have no grid penalties, whereas the counterparts do at Ferrari and Red Bull, and the car looks good, they feel comfortable and confident this weekend. They haven't won yet this year and their qualifying performance is the thing that hurts them, so they want to start as far up the grid as they possibly can to give themselves a really good chance.

  17. Alex Albon takes to the radio to express his annoyance at Lewis Hamilton's lack of awareness, as the Williams man feels he was blocked by the Mercedes.
