    Sergio Perez says on the Red Bull team radio he has clipped the entry at Turn Four. The Mexican is in third spot and has plenty of support in the grandstands. "Checo for world champion!!" screams one excited supporter.

    I think Aston Martin tried to save a set of tyres, Stroll went out and Alonso also fell right down.

    As soon as Alonso goes out in Q2 with a fresh set of boots on, he's able to pump in a much more respectable time.

    They got greedy with Q3 options and now one of their cars is not going to feature at all.

    Better from the Alpines. Australia and Baku were weekends to forget but Esteban Ocon clocks a time half a second away from Max Verstappen's top marker and lifts his car up into fourth. Pierre Gasly comes through next and sits in fifth.

    The two Mercedes are over a second off the pace of Max Verstappen. That W14 is going to have to put in a solid shift to lift Lewis Hamilton and George Russell into to Q3 and avoid any shocks.
