    Miami practice is over for another season.

    Max Verstappen is untouchable in the Red Bull and comes home in first spot with a time of 1:27.535 on the soft tyres.

    Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is second and the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez is third.

    A fan in the crowd is holding a sign which says she'll swap her Dad for a picture with Lando Norris. Hopefully the McLaren driver sees this and reassures her she doesn't need to resort to such drastic measures for a quick photo.

    The clock has turned red with two minutes to go and Alpine's Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly are both running in the top five drivers.

    However, Charles Leclerc has been quiet so far this session but here comes the Ferrari man now, ready to push Gasly down the order as he places his Scuderia second behind Max Verstappen.

    Massive lock-up for Lando Norris in the McLaren after Nico Hulkenberg's skirmish in the Haas.

    Yuki Tsunoda is down in 20th place and fumes to his Alpha Tauri crew about his car's understeer. He may be the smallest driver on the grid but Tsunoda doesn't half pack a punch in a radio rant.

    Softs as far as the eye can see across the timesheets now. Surprise, surprise, Max Verstappen improves again and finds even more speed in the RB19. The time to beat now is a 1:27.595.

    Miami's debut on the Formula 1 calendar wasn't a happy day out for Lando Norris. The McLaren driver was involved in a nasty tangle with Pierre Gasly on lap 41 which caused both drivers to retire from the race.

    Meanwhile, George Russell is back on the radio, this time he's informing his Mercedes pit wall about "hopping".

    It looks like the tyres are hanging on - that's why with 15 minutes to go we still have cars out there. The tyres are giving them the luxury of getting more laps and more knowledge of the circuit.

    Alpine are heading out for a spot of red running in the south Florida sunshine. The start of the season hasn't been a bed of roses for the French team but Pierre Gasly is on a decent lap now and puts his car in the top five with a 1:28.487. Gasly is quicker than his best mate Charles Leclerc and just 0.294 short of Sergio Perez in third.

    Lewis Hamilton is putting in a clean lap as we edge towards 20 minutes left of the session. No lock-ups to be found on this outing and the seven-time world champion jumps from 10th position up to fifth spot on some red rubber.

    "Lots of vibrations on the steering rack," is the message from George Russell as the Mercedes driver heads back out on track. The Briton struggled with his steering on Friday which kept him out of a big chunk of first practice. But then he did top the session with a late dart on the softs in the end.

    Everyone has a new set of soft tyres to go on to. It just shows the softs are hanging on pretty well, the degradation is pretty low and the track grip is coming up.
