Valtteri Bottas has managed to get back home and his Alfa Romeo is being wheeled into the garage where the problem and potential damage done by the spin will be assessed.
Valtteri Bottas, along with Esteban Ocon, are the only two drivers who had not set a time before Bottas' spin.
Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris all need improvements to get out of the elimination zone.
And now it brings out the red flag. Everyone makes their way back to the pits as Valtteri Bottas attempts to get his car restarted.
There's a car off the track with an Alfa Romeo facing the wrong way. It looks like Valtteri Bottas at Turn One.
A few drivers are already struggling with the track limits as Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris have times deleted.
A flurry of first times ends with Max Verstappen going top of the pile with a 1:05.190.
Oscar Piastri is second quickest, seven tenths slower than Verstappen, with Sergio Perez third.
Max Verstappen is out on track and is on a hot lap now.
Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen lead the field out. Red boots are the order of the day.
Here we go! The first part of qualifying is under way.

Max Verstappen was ahead in practice by a pretty commanding margin when you factor in he was on the medium tyre when many of his rivals were on softs.

Once again there will be live commentary on the action from Austria online via this page and the BBC Sport App.
It will kick in shortly before qualifying gets under way at 16:00 BST, so tune in.
Max Verstappen equalled Ayrton Senna's career total of 41 victories with a dominant win at the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Dutchman's triumph means he has a 69-point lead in the championship, while it was the 100th victory for his Red Bull team.
Fernando Alonso finished second in that race, with Lewis Hamilton third.
As ever, plenty of support in the stands for Max Verstappen.
The Dutch fans head in their thousands to Austria for the race.
A reminder that qualifying is happening today because tomorrow is all about the Sprint race.
It means we've only had the one practice session, which Max Verstappen finished fastest in, so there's a little element of the unknown as qualifying approaches.
Hello and welcome back!
Final preparations are being made up and down the pitlane as teams get ready for qualifying for Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix.
The one hour session gets under way in 30 minutes.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen headed the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in practice at the Austrian Grand Prix.
The world championship leader was 0.241 seconds ahead of Sainz despite using the medium-compound tyre to set his time, when Ferrari used the softs.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was fourth fastest and team-mate George Russell ninth in the only session before qualifying.
Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, in fifth and eighth places, also did not use the softs.
Aston Martin’s Lanca Stroll was sixth ahead of Haas driver Kevin Magnussen.
It was a potentially inconclusive session as teams tried to make the best use of the limited time before their cars are locked down in specification before qualifying at 16:00 UK time.
This is the second of six weekends this season run to the revised ‘sprint’ format.
Qualifying on Friday afternoon sets the grid for the grand prix on Sunday, while Saturday is a stand-alone day with a qualifying session setting the grid for the sprint race later in the afternoon.
That's it then! Practice done and dusted. Next up is one hour of qualifying for Sunday's race, which gets under way at 16:00 BST.
Red Bull are looking in a good place for their home race, with Max Verstappen two tenths quicker than his rivals on a slower compound of tyre.
