Max Verstappen sneaks in one more quick lap to reclaim top spot as the session enters the final few seconds. He clocks a 1:05.742.

Concerningly for his rivals, that's on the mediums, whereas all his rivals from other teams have done their quickest times on softs.

This place cooks the tyres pretty quickly, especially in a qualifying run. It is very unusual [to do three slow laps] but it is because the lap is so short and the track temps do get quite high here so that is an effort to get the tyres back into their window and performing well.

Four minutes to go and it looks like Ferrari will be ending this practice session top of the order after being pretty quiet for most of it.

Carlos Sainz is back out for another lap as Max Verstappen is told to go for a "third slow lap".

Even with a session like this, which has probably gone as smoothly as it could have done for most teams out there, you are still going to be short of runs going into Sunday. It is a little bit of the unknown.

Lewis Hamilton's first run on the softs sees him go fourth quickest, 0.268s down on Carlos Sainz's time on the same compound.

But now Carlos Sainz goes quickest as he does a 1:05.983 on softs.

Charles Leclerc briefly goes quickest on the soft tyres but Max Verstappen, on mediums, does 1:06.084 to go a tenth quicker than the Ferrari.

Not the best lap from George Russell on his first soft-tyre run as he goes fifth quickest, half a second slower than his team-mate.

Lance Stroll, on softs, is up to second on his quali run, clocking 1:06.550, putting him 0.134s of Lewis Hamilton's time with 10 minutes of practice remaining.

Oscar Piastri is onto his qualifying simulation run as he leaps up to P6, clocking a time of 1:06.809 with soft tyres bolted on.

It is busy in the pits as other teams switch to their quali sims programme.

Max Verstappen has reported a couple of issues with grip during this session but in contrast Lewis Hamilton seems to be in a good place. "Car feels pretty decent," he says.

"Something is stuck on the left sidepod," reports Pierre Gasly, who had just got caught up in a bit of traffic at Turn Three.

Gasly is currently 11th quickest.

Just under 30 minutes to go in this first and final practice session of the weekend. Still firmly in long runs territory but there should be some qualifying simulation runs in the final 15 minutes.

"Front tyres are not gripping up," says Max Verstappen. "I'm struggling with a lot of understeer."

We're into the long runs part of practice as teams work through their preparations for Sunday's race.

So far so good for Mercedes in this session as Lewis Hamilton goes back on top, clocking 1:06.416 to go two tenths quicker than Max Verstappen.

Alex Albon is up and running for the session as a 1:06.794 on soft tyres puts him fifth.

His Williams team-mate, Logan Sargeant, does a 1:07.8 and he is 18th quickest.
